Controller support?

Other Half Life games have controller support, just wondering if there was a way round it

Hello, same question, the controller support is ok in the game menu. But in game, impossible to do something with controller.
Is there a way to use native controller option in the game?

Seems like the next update will address controller support. I'm waiting for it.
At least the patch notes mention sensitivity slides and controls in the menu I think. Check the main page for the details.

I am waiting for this also. The game recognizes my Xbox One controller, but I can't get it to invert the look. Only options are for mouse input.

This is also coming in the next patch.

I have the same problem using a controller. Works in the game menu but does not work in game. I have Xbox controllers. That’s the support I’m looking for. I was very disappointed to see controller options But you can’t get a controller to work. Really hoping to get fixed

The controller support isn't great in the Source Engine, but it's there for all it's games.. Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Portal etc.. In older versions of Black Mesa, it still had the traditional Half-Life 2 main menu, in which would include all the controller options you need.. a toggle for gamepad on and off, sensitivity slides etc.. but since they updated to this new main menu, all the controller options went missing (which I think it's coming in the next patch), however there is a console command or launch properties option to enable the old school Half-Life 2 menu.. if you do that, then you can configure controller better.

Finally decided to try this remake out, and was bummed to find out controller support only works for the menu. Any word on when actual Xbox gamepad support will be released, or am I S.O.L.?

Not for me it doesn't. What controller are you using? I tried with a wireless Xbox One controller and it only lets you control the menus.

I don't use a controller for this type of game, but maybe try using a wire to see if that works.

I'm using the newer Xbox one controller with USB C and it's working in game, just don't have an option in the menu to toggle the inversion, so I'm stuck until the next patch. Strangely, I started out with it not working and had to use Joy to Key, but over time, certain functions started working? Like crouching and weapon switching. It was quite weird. I sort of shrugged it off and simply turned off functions in Joy to Key as they started working natively in the game.
