Nvidia may report temps differently, but chips are super resistant to high temps.
And hot spot temps are not representative of the average temp in general.
But you can always clean your dust or adjust GPU fan settings.
I mean i have a 2080 Super and i've never had it reach 80 degrees. The highest i've ever seen it is about 70 but averages 58-65
Perhaps you'd want to consider adding some more fans to your pc or something
It is normal.
Are you kinda not listening or reading wtf I am saying?
huh? Come again?
I have 3 fans on my GPU that only spin up to keep the aforementioned GPU at a never above 80 C ..as is designed.
Those fans have never gone above 55% to keep it at that temp....
...so tell me again about how poorly it works?
It depends on the game and the GPU. I can play other games at high fps and 99% usage and I don't get such high fan speeds and temps. WIth my previous 2-fan, EVGA 1070 the temperature never got above 65C no matter how hard it was pushed. The 5700XT (Sapphire Pulse, 2-fan) obviously runs hotter, but I still don't see fan speeds or temps over 70C/1450 RPM even on MSFS at 1440p/High. Black Mesa (an old Source game) was pushing the temps to 89C and 1900 RPM at 165fps at 1440p. That's way too high.
The amount of variables. Card? Ambient temp? Game? Case?
Just saying, 80 C isn't bad for a temp when playing games.
Uh, yah...that's exactly what I'm saying. It depends on the game and situation. The whole point I'm making is that Black Mesa should not be this taxing to a video card.
this is just false BS your cards can run at 80 degrees no problem i know people who have
2080's and get those temps on most demanding days and its fine I use radeon cards i get 80's in the summer time if its gonna be a long game session i will just up the fan speeds to 3k and the temps sit at 70 max on the hottest days.
Time to worry or at least when my warning lights come on my computer will close the game if it gets to 90degrees+ C and send out an alert
