xbox one controller support?
Can i play this game with xbox one gamepad?

Doesn't work for the main menu. But works fine in gameplay.

actually i just tested it...it dosnt work at all in the menus or in game. how does this game not have controller support yet?

It works fine for me in game. It might help you if you launch it with -oldgameui and then enable the controller through the settings there.

How do you launch the game like this? I know nothing amount console commands or whatever it is to allow this. I want to try and play this with controller but nothing works besides pausing and crouching function for me.

Yeah I can't get mine to work either. Do you enter -oldgameui in the developer console? Or do I need to launch bms.exe -oldgameui?

OK sorted. If you want controller to work create a shortcut to bms.exe then right click on shortcut and choose properties. Then in the target link after the quote mark at the end of bms.exe leave a space and put -oldgameui and save the shortcut. Launch with that shortcut and you should have the old menu, go to settings and then mouse and there should be an enable joystick option. Enable this and you have full controller support in menu's and everything.

Thank you for this, had no idea how or where to enter that -oldgameui command to do this. Will try it out now

You don't need to make a shortcut, just right click on black mesa in steam, choose properties and add -oldgameui as a launch option.

X-Box Controller works now in-game but seriously we need proper Aim-assist/Auto aim because controller support is basically usless due to the nature of the enemies. They move to quickly in order to accurately aim at them with a controller (especially those black ops assassins). So if any of the developers could tell us if it is even possible to add aim-assist in a future update, that would be nice : )

i think controller support is dead...theve been saying how they were going to do it for this next big update but never did and they constantly shut down any controller related threads on here.

Hi.

We don't close any controller related threads unless you can give me an example here by linking me the said closed threads.

As for controller support, devs are working on it, and they are probably having a nightmare trying to get it to work.
