When you go from a full 8 to 0, the last shell isn't ejected until he racks, so he'll be ejecting 7 total, then the final 8th when he's done loading the gun up fully.
it behaves realistically
especially that part where a semi auto shotgun with one barrel can be fired double barrel and pumping it once somehow puts "both shells" back into the "second barrel"
it's a game, something feels bad and it should be fixed. Bad design is bad design even if it's realistic.
I rationalised it as the weapon is fitted with a two-shot burst at a high rate of fire.
Like all FPS shotties it's the weapon of choice :D
The shotgun was my go-to weapon in Half-Life 2.
But in this game I just avoid it completely,
unless to fire off an individual double-shot,
before switching away from it for the rest of the fight.
It's the clunkiest shotgun I've ever used in a game.
