[Suggestion] Bunny-Hop
Cmon, its a remake of a classic game, please add this classic feature pleeeeeeeeaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee :gman:

No need to reinstate the bunnyhop bug, it was the worst thing to ever happen to videogames.

Way to be specific mate. You talk as if Black Measa is a rail shooter with no player movement involved. And no it will never happen and thank god because in HL 1 many spam that BH and use aim bot with the gausgun, so no.
Not to mention the engine does not have that feature since in the original it was nothing but a physics bug.

Pretty much this. Whoever knows how to bhop pretty much owns the server and is practically impossible to kill. My first HL multiplayer experience was joining a server almost full just to see one guy reaching the speed of sound and insta-killing anyone that moved with only the crossbow and the tau cannon, haven't touched HL multiplayer since, but I like BM's multiplayer scene a lot. Out of all HL that has MP, it is BM's that I had the most fun with.

If that's all, it's easy.

You've a sprint function, which wasn't present in the original Half-Life.
Furthermore you can change the value a sprint is speeding up the cl_forwardspeed by tinkering around with your config.

So you can even go faster than with that bugged feature. It was a nice way to speed your char up without a sprint function indeed.
But it's not needed anymore.
There are still tons of CS:S or Half-Life Deathmath servers where you can use that feature.



In addition:
When it comes to the multiplayer, there is the longjump module.
The mechanics got changed recently (a bit nerfed), but with practice you may be able to evolve skills with it, which give you a good advantage over other players either.

I dunno. On one hand I would like BM MP to be faster. On the other hand bhops are piss in source engine games. Too glitchy. Just look what happens to BM player models/hitboxes when you crouch jump...plus the physics are not the same as hldm.

Im a little late but these console commands
and holding down your sprint key:
sv_cheats 1
sv_airaccelerate 100
sv_airspeedcap 100
sv_maxspeed 100000
sv_air_jump_delay 0
sv_airboost_jump_forward_speed 400
sv_speed_sprint 0
sv_cheats 0

will allow you to bhop
if you wanna go faster turn sv_airaccelerate to 1000 - 1500

Bunny hopping is not needed for Half Life. It may have it's uses in multiplayer yes, but not in single player. I found that it doesn't even work right in Half Life Source and Goldsource for speedrunning anyway. It isn't really a problem because I don't do speed runs and we have the infinite sprint ability for that now.

a lot of thing in life are not needed, but its good to have, it may be useful or just fun, u cant really compare sprinting with bunnyhop, sprinting doesnt require a lot of player engagement, u just hold down shift, u dont have to time ur hops correctly to jump a gap at high speed, and u dont have to manage how u strafe to control ur speed and direction, and also, valve has already found a solution to this in csgo, its a convar called sv_enablebunnyhopping and its flagged as a cheat, so why not implement this on black mesa?

you can still bhop using gold source package or an won version of halflife
hl source have bhop like in hl2

Im played a lot of Arena FPS, and slow paced FPS, also give it some time to Black Mesa MP when was the new content.

Black Mesa it's better without BH, because the map's rigth now are more like raw aim skill and good positioning, that go spriting and shooting with dual barrel shotgun. For that it's the long jump module, that make a good player OP. If u make this BH into this, it bring only use fast damage weapons, like x-bow, shotgun, etc. That all weapons in the game, and lower the importance of Long jump module

i will make sure ArenaFPS player that they not BH because they are not speedruning /s

Yeah, i speedrun on Quake and HL1 too, but this it's not Quake or HL1, it's feel more like FEAR+Half Life in stance of gameplay (i will not say HL2 because some fan's will say the only way to speedrun that it's with BH+Gravity Hop's or Jumps) .

It's different, it's "should" be diferent.

Re-imagination =/= Remake

Remakes NEED to have B-hop (like, if someone make a remake of Quake, they should put BH)

If somebody make a re-imagination of Quake, they can make things so diferent (adding cut-scenes, extended levels to bring realism instead of just level gaming desing, make things different) and they can have some liberty to change things (but without deleting the things that make the game be Quake, so being the lovecraftian astmophere, the portals, the demons thing, etc)

And i know bms was a hl2 mod source, but it's was with the intetion of being they own re-imagination.
