Latest EXO mission
I FINALLY got hold of Helium to permit crafting nanocarbon alloy to satisfy this thing, only to find it netted me a whopping 22 points out of a needed 1800 or so, so, is there anything I can put into the resource canister atop the exo rocket? i tried a variety of things and the rocket only excepts the container if its empty. I was able to speed things along with the pumpkin one by putting squasholine and the other fuels in the empty gas container that that EXO rocket required, so can I do the sane thing here?

You could fill a resource canister with nanocarbon alloy. That will get you 480 points. That's 4 rockets worth to finish. You can also fill it with tungsten carbide, aluminum or compound, but those will all get you less points of course - 160, 96 or 32 points respectively. You don't have to match the ghost images, you can put any of those 4 materials on the sockets.

Awsome, thanks.

is there an optimized way of doing this? the amount feels a bit excessive. i understand that it's meant to encourage automation but, 2560 points for the 3 rewards, that's 171 nanocarbon if you go only by that resource. and that's 171 titanium, steel and helium. argon, nitrogen & helium's easy enough just sit around and wait for the collectors but the other two are alloys themselves. so 171 iron, 171 carbon, 171 titanium, 171 graphite and 171 hydrazine is needed. my brain hurts

^^ It's only 1920 points to get all three.

If you use automation, even at the simplest levels, it's easy to have stockpiles of all basic materials. Then with a bit more automation, you can churn out the nanocarbon. Starting with a new save would take a while, but with an established game it's done pretty quickly.

I used the Tungsten Carbide that i got from Fault Finder trading instead cause was too lazy to set up a Nanocarbon alloy mass production.

And i had crap tons of scrap and astronium for Fault Finders.

Why Tungsten Carbide? Cause it's second best amount of points and had much better exchange rate than Nanocarbon. You get much more per Fault Finder.

Completed the event in one session.

that's still 96 fault finders. did you actually play the pathetic decryption game 96 times? that would test my patience

Was it 96? Didn't feel like it maybe i spaced out.
I had 4 medium storages of filled fault finders from last time i played and yea i grinded for rest.

I also discovered you can pop several fault finder minigames at once in same area and do them in bulk. They don't redirect you far from the origin point so you have one area full of overlapping fault finder minigames.

I did a 5 hour session and did only fault finder grinding. I was able to launch 3 rockets [40 carbide each (32 in canister and 8 in slots) = 600 points]. That took my soul out of me. I think I'll do the rest with automation, because you need 128 of each thing anyway, and now that I did some with carbide, the remaining bit requires 88 of each instead of 128.

I couldn't do the trick with multiple finders at once. They all seem to point to their own individual next 'node'. So if I start 5 seperately I have to follow 5 different new points etc. Also to top if off, some finders are bugged or something, they only show 1 memory upon activating. And some of them say that 'something is blocking the signal' but no matter where i put it it won't activate anymore.

All in all I think it's pretty grindy and I'll just go the automation for the rest.

Oh yep that can happen pick up the fault finder that is in same spot and blocking the other one then continue on the path then plop the other back on and continue on that one's path.

Once they are all ready trigger the minigames at once.

The path progress is saved on fault finders themselves so it doesn't matter if you put them back in the inventory then place them back up.

Eh hard to explain would rather show how i did it instead trying to explain. Also i didn't do crazy amounts at once like 4-6 at once.

Anyways do whatever method works for you.

I started a fresh new save, and made a b-line for a tungsten-carbide kitchen, rather than a nano-carbon factory. Still required a bit of setup, and quite a bit of handling, but I only set foot on three worlds, one only briefly for a sample's worth of iron and argon.

All I got going right now is an extractor on deslo for the tungsten and a TBM for soil for
the organic at home, where the "kitchen" is. The kitchen is just a centrifuge, 1 smelter, and the chemistry lab. Only auto arm involved is for pulling the final product out of the lab.
