If you use automation, even at the simplest levels, it's easy to have stockpiles of all basic materials. Then with a bit more automation, you can churn out the nanocarbon. Starting with a new save would take a while, but with an established game it's done pretty quickly.
And i had crap tons of scrap and astronium for Fault Finders.
Why Tungsten Carbide? Cause it's second best amount of points and had much better exchange rate than Nanocarbon. You get much more per Fault Finder.
Completed the event in one session.
Was it 96? Didn't feel like it maybe i spaced out.
I had 4 medium storages of filled fault finders from last time i played and yea i grinded for rest.
I also discovered you can pop several fault finder minigames at once in same area and do them in bulk. They don't redirect you far from the origin point so you have one area full of overlapping fault finder minigames.
I couldn't do the trick with multiple finders at once. They all seem to point to their own individual next 'node'. So if I start 5 seperately I have to follow 5 different new points etc. Also to top if off, some finders are bugged or something, they only show 1 memory upon activating. And some of them say that 'something is blocking the signal' but no matter where i put it it won't activate anymore.
All in all I think it's pretty grindy and I'll just go the automation for the rest.
Oh yep that can happen pick up the fault finder that is in same spot and blocking the other one then continue on the path then plop the other back on and continue on that one's path.
Once they are all ready trigger the minigames at once.
The path progress is saved on fault finders themselves so it doesn't matter if you put them back in the inventory then place them back up.
Eh hard to explain would rather show how i did it instead trying to explain. Also i didn't do crazy amounts at once like 4-6 at once.
Anyways do whatever method works for you.
All I got going right now is an extractor on deslo for the tungsten and a TBM for soil for
the organic at home, where the "kitchen" is. The kitchen is just a centrifuge, 1 smelter, and the chemistry lab. Only auto arm involved is for pulling the final product out of the lab.
