Do not shred dynamite

So, um...yeah. Found some lying around with scrap, didn't need it, thought like any other item I could shred it. Blew up large rover and large shredder. Whoops! 🤣

The game has a number of options for unexpected loss of property. There are a few things that shouldn't be shredded, and a few things that shouldn't be put on a smelter. And there's some interesting potential for chain reactions if you have certain things nearby when you do one or the other of those....

Such as? I mean, in this case I just rebuilt, I had no idea. Not a huge deal, I have plenty of resource and chips. Mildly annoying, but I also got a good laugh, so 🤷‍♀️

Well now you got me all curious!!! Such as? I don't want to blow up my base somehow in some way I don't know. Granted, I haven't done anything like this before now, but I'd be REALLY upset if I somehow damaged or blew up my resource automation in my main base!

so hydrazine and dynamite are the most explosive compounds in the game, the more of them in a group the more damage it can do. Let's game it out on youtube took this to extremes to the point the game couldn't handle it no more.

Things that are flammable / explosive in real life. Dynamite, hydrogen, and hydrazine, mainly.

Oh I watch Let's Game It Out all the time. I certainly knew you would get a bigger bang if you used a lot of dynamite.

What makes hydrogen and hydrazine blow up? I hope I have to use dynamite? Or also something to not shred (not that I would!) 🤣

I lost a base due to placeing leftover squasholine in the smelter thinking I could refine it, when it blew it detonated the 8 dynamite I had in storage.

I tried the samples in the smelter hoping to farm carbon and nothing happened. Glad I didn't experiment further.

Don't put them on the smelter. I think shredding is also a bad idea. (Basically, pay attention to what you put in the smelter and shredder.)

And if you ever actually want to dynamite something, check for any flammables in the prospective blast radius first unless you actively want a bigger bang.

I would never shred a gas, so that isn't an issue. Certainly never hydrazine - I never have enough of the stuff. I so need to figure out the automation to get the scrap shuttles to launch without me babysitting and then make one of those print and scrap setups. But then you really need a lot of soil to even do that. *sigh*

I can certainly see why playing this with other people has advantages, but I like the relaxing nature of doing it solo.

yeah this is by far the strangest of them all. even though it prints direct to dynamite. maybe its because its no packaged properly it wouldnt explode and instead smolder?

You can exchange astronium for hydrazine, that helps a lot.

Not sure... the way I found out was by putting a bunch of explosive powder in a hole and trying to ignite them with dynamite.

Yeah, been doing that, but you need a lot to fill up on other resources. I am trying to fully fill the large resource (400) with EVERYTHING. Graphene is needed for so many and it uses so much hydrazine.
