Tip for Getting Sheet Metal Quickly
If you find yourself in need of Sheet Metal, start up the mission 'Kenji's Great Tips', run straight north and pick up anything in the building with the courtyard, then exit to the camp and repeat.

That building spawns anywhere from 0-6 of any of the required quest materials, and frequently gives all 6 Sheet Metal straight away. You'll also end up with misc materials like Copper Wire, Paving Stones, Water, Food, etc. You can get hundreds of Sheet Metal in less than an hour this way. Helps to have the game on an SSD to drop load times.

My favorite one to collect sheet metal fast is the Rabid Coyotes, run it at the lowest level possible and you can do it with a melee weapon , one shoting everything with a sledge hammer. it doesnt give good exp but its like 5 metal sheets for 5 mintues of work. When you need materials more than exp. It also gives nails and you can collect big wood and berries, making it a life line for new characters to get established.
Roscoe's 2th mission - Failed Transaction, gets you 10 sheet metal quickly for talking to a customer. Once you locate the 2 spawn points for the customer, you can quickly run through the map to the 2 sites and talk to him, fight off the horde chasing you ( or run away) and exit for a quick 10 sheet metal, rinse and repeat - you can rack up 60 sheet metal in about a half hour.
(update), I just tested it again, and pulled in 100 sheet metal in 16:30, It would have been more, but the undead get upset when you ignore them and just run past, there were a few good fights in there.

Nice tip again Infected. However single player game got so grindy and repetitive since release I changed my review to negative. It was already repetitive during EA, but I really though developers cared for players and would adapt the game to satisfy both MP and SP.
It never happened.
As it is, building a base after level 10 is a boring grind.
