Question: fixing FFX/X-2 - 4GB patch and UnX

Greetings, everyone.

I would like to replay FFX/X-2 as I did back in 2018. Back then, I think I had Windows 7, but now I have Windows 11.

…Since FFX/X-2 was HD-fied back in the mid-2010s for, I think, Windows 7, I'm very certain that it is not just the stutter and the frames-per-sec that I have to fix but also the green/black screen, right?

But I don't know how to fix this mess of a port that Square Enix thought was acceptable for PC.
(Final Fantasy X was a best seller for the PS2 back in the day, the very least Square Enix could have done was to treat one of its golden hen with respect ...but they didn't. The game is capped around 25 - 30FPS and for some players, they are greeted with green screens during CGI's).

But anyhow, in regards to how I should fix FFX HD:
I'm not just going to need UnX this time, right?(I think).

Back then in 2018, I downloaded the UnX MOD from FFX's Steam guide section to fix it, and it worked back then, but recently I've heard that I SHOULD NOT download UnX from there anymore, because the MOD is not considered outdated. When I read the comment section, people are telling me to instead download UnX from its official wiki(which I did, I think. There are multiple download links, but I think I got the right one, I hope)

But aside from UnX, I've also heard that Recently, I've heard that, for some people, FFX's CGIs' will just show a green screen while sound plays in the background.

Some players have fixed this issue by downloading NTCores 4GB patch

I opened FFX to see if it happened to me, I opened my old save file from 2018, I replayed some CG's from Luca's theater and… the CG's work for me, apparently.

I suspect the CG's work for me because I have a program called K-Lite which is a codec fix program. Which, apparently, fixes old video formats. I downloaded it to fix an unrelated game that I bought elsewhere(and it didn't fix that unrelated game for me. However K-Lite did fix my outdated MPEG movie player …and maybe FFX HD, I guess)

But even though I'm not getting a green/black screen during CG's, should I still apply the 4GB patch …and why? Does it do anything else than to fix green screens?

So, anyways, I would like to fix FFX HD and I kindly ask for someone knowledgeable to help me. Thank you.

If you got UnX from the Wiki, it SHOULD already come with the 4GB patch included. It's the one from the Steam page that's outdated and doesn't have the patch.

That being said I haven't done a fresh install in a while so I can't say if things have changed in the past 1.5 years or so since I last did this.

It works as long as you play with graphics set to HIGH. Nobody ever mentioned that, as some people play on Middle (that was me) or low.

Works CUSTOM as well? Or should it just be HIGH?

I only tested low and middle. Textures won't load with those two.

Not a problem I've experienced tbh, but it's been a while. Could be a more recent issue or something.

If you experience any problems like textures not loading try to run the game as an admin. If you want to mod your game go for catachrisms textures and the better textures mod.

Admin did literally nothing for me. Neither did fullscreen, or having steam closed. Only setting texture quality to high fixed it for me. I was even using Project X from the Wiki.
