Final Fantasy X Masters Challenge Mod
To whom it may be of interest, I just released a challenge mod for this release of FFX HD (English version specifically) on Nexusmods:

Dubbed the Final Fantasy X Masters Challenge mod, it transforms the game into a particular kind of challenge. Not only is it very difficult, it is also a "grindless" challenge mod - meaning in this mod you only get AP from bosses while regular monsters yield no AP or items or gil whatsoever, being merely hazards to survive. This puts you at a fixed level for each area in the game and also makes your overall resources in the mod inherently finite, challenging you to properly manage your resources if you wish to make it through.

Enemies and bosses across the game are modified including the postgame (Dark Aeons, the Monster Arena is removed because well it's a grindless mod), and of course also the Sphere Grid, some Customizations and many other things small and large, though overall the game still functions as you'd expect Final Fantasy X to function in general. Thanks for making this!

More mods are always a positive for the community.

I might check it out when I find the time. I'm not a huge fan of handicap/no-grind mods, but perhaps this might be interesting to play nonetheless.

By enemies being "modified" do you only mean stats or did you also change enemy behaviors/scripts/abilities/etc.?

Everything. Changed stats/affinities, changed attacks, changed AI behaviors. Some are pretty faithful to their original counterparts, while others are completely different. They're all documented extensively in the included (full) list of changes.

Great! That makes me want to play this a lot more.

Maybe once the semester winds down and I'm done with all my grading and committees I can find some free time to give it a whirl.

Very good job :steamthumbsup:, did you do all of this with Hex Editor? There are hardly any tools for FFX and FFX-2 - it looks like a lot of work. For the FFX-2 0-XP mod I edited every single monster using the hex editor

Yup, edits were all done manually with a Hex Editor. Though I created a parsing tool in Java which I could use to double-check and debug problems with the custom AI scripts and other modifications too. I've linked it in the readme.

Do you perhaps have information about how the hp/mp and stars are calculated for FFX-2?
