If your not a savvy Linux user then try clean slate. Steam Library / steamapps / compdata / 359870, wipe it clean. If your savvy you now have the location, it's all in there, reg, ini, saves, etc.

Dude thanks so much that actually helped and fixed other problems i was having with the game cause some of the games menus were messed up too like missing the backgrounds but they are fixed now thank you don’t know how you knew that was the fix

Sadly most all games and other programs are made for Windows, so for other operating systems many of those .dll's and other files are needed even for wine and proton, so you have special paths files for most everything. Steam adds a compdata folder to the steamapps folder that contains all those from settings ini files to registry files and if you look under properties for each game in steam you can find the id number for each game you play. This one is 359870 and under windows you would find your saves in the MY DOCUMENTS folder, so now it's still the same just in the compdata folder with more paths added to it.

Yeah I followed your instructions but what was weird was when i got to the compatdata folder the 359870 folder wasn’t there but it showed up in the zshardercachekiller program under compatdata tab so i deleted using that program and then redownloaded the game and it worked fine with everything fixed

most likely Proton 8.0-5:
- Fixed Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster crashing during combat.
- Fixed Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster crashing after Steam Cloud save updates sets resolution to Non-Deck-Native.

yeah you have to set the game's compatibility settings to run Proton 8.0.5. that should fix the crashing/freezing issues
If the game crashed in Steam Deck, I just changed the Proton version between 8 and 7 back and forth, until it did not crash.
