Stuck on Evrae

I can easily reach the end of the fight, but when the boss uses Haste on itself everything just falls apart

Which character has that? My usual strategy is to have Tidus use Haste on everyone, and then have Lulu buff defense and attack. Auron can lower the boss’s physical attack slightly, and Wakka is good for far away.

Dispel is a White Magic ability. It can remove Haste.

The main mechanic of the fight is Breath, try and move away with the Airship when it's about to happen. Healing with Rikku's Use -> Al Bhed Potion is very useful.

Purifying salts can remove haste if you have any, also dispel. I think i just destroyed Evrae with normal attacks, only got the breath move off once. If you use 4x speed you can grind some monsters and raise levels of your main party. Most of the storyline bosses are easy, the only one i had a little trouble with was the zanarkand trials boss which i think i ended up Zanmato.

I don't believe Purifying Salt is available when you fight Evrae. You can only get it from monks and the Fiend Arena iirc.

All I did was use my usual strategy, and then dump a few overdrives after grinding the bars up
