Steam Deck Crashing

So I have already completed FF-X on the deck with no issues, I have started a new play through with was running fine until yesterday when I applied a new software update to the deck and now it crashes during some cut scenes, it doesn't do it at the same place in the cut scenes just seems random, anyone else having an issue or can offer any ideas on how to solve the issue

I had the same issue earlier, try forcing it to use Proton 7 in the properties menu in Steam. That fixed it for me.

maybe try another Proton Version - for FFX-2 i read:
"Setting it to Proton 6,3-8 worked for me. Used to crash before even getting into combat."

This is happening to me at various points all over the start of the game. It's usually during a cutscene transition. I've tried numerous different Proton suggestions I've seen online, but not 7 yet. I'll try that when I get home this afternoon.

Thanks MondoDirtch & Boshiken I just tried Proton 7 and have played for 3 hrs straight without a crash

I tired this and had no problems from arriving at Kilika...until the Highroad. Crashed while
talking to the Chocobo Knights.

This game is borked to crap. Its a shame because it is one of the best FF games of all time.

I tried 8.25 and that crashed on the first fight. I also tried 7.26 and that crashed too.

I am now streaming it from my computer to the Deck.

I was able to play for an hour then it crash man this suck.

I played for a little over an hour yesterday and I had no crash was on experimental and I lower the graphics settings to low. I’ll play some more later and let y’all know how it works cross your fingers.

Sounds good. I tried experimental and it crashed, but I didn't change the graphics quality. Maybe that is the key.
