Kimahri on the other hand just isn't naturally good at anything in particular. He can do many jobs depending on where you send him to on the sphere grid, but he will do none of the jobs as efficient as other characters can do them because his own area just doesn't specialize him as the areas of the other characters do. This is less of an issue on the Expert Grid, but the Standard Grid essentially forces him into a hybrid role in a game where hybrids just aren't that useful.
I found Kimahri that partially did the circle then went into Wakka nodes was strong as hell, Especially after i finished Wakka and swapped into Auron Nodes.
Yuna same ♥♥♥♥, I did her node till i got a teleport and went into Auron node cause Bahamut with Strength is stupidly broken, Anima just as broken and Yojimbo = Omaewamou.
Sure, She didn't have access to key skills but i'd rather have a glass cannon than have curaga or holy and lets face it, The Nul (Element) spells are useless at the point in game game gives it, You don't need Null stuff till around Zanarkand. I didn't use it once till i started farming Flans specifically.
But you can do the same with Wakka or Auron, and without having to run through Kimahri's area with the mixed nodes that aren't as useful. Again, less of a problem on the Expert Grid, but even then he'll still be behind a few levels because he has to first travel to the specialized nodes, while others will start there.
But he does not have his own path so whatever you do he will just be like a slightly worse version of the character whose path he is following.
And late-game his overdrive is just meh.
but as long as you do not strive for reaching the super-bosses as fast as possible he is absolutely good enough.
