No Ultrawide Support?

Surprising a AAA studio remasters a game in 2016 and provides no ultrawide support:

Just a case of there not being enough people to really care about this, would be my guess. Features don't just happen magically, they cost money - money that needs to be justified.

How many people really didn't buy this ONLY because it has no UW support? Probably a vanishingly small number.

- console-only original release
- old school Japanese dev
- hundreds of pre-rendered background AND cutscenes both in-engine and CGI

anyone who expected ultrawide is out of their mind

actually they did change it to a different rendering engine (Sony's Phyre engine) which already made it 16:9 from the original 4:3.
Even if you would patch it to ultrawide, 2D backgrounds would look stretched since theyre fixed 16:9 background images..
if you don't care.. there might be a cheat engine table out there somewhere.. I don't know.

The game still runs the original PS2-code, phyre-engine is basically used as a wrapped/emulator for most of it (phyre is more a collection of libraries rather than what most people would consider a game-engine )

I was playing this pearl again after 3 years and was also confused. Needed some google`ing to remember this: Hit Escape Button -> and get to the settings...

Did anyone get it to run in 21:9? I installed the PC Wiki mod but the game still runs in 16:9.

I mean, the remaster isn't even from 2016, it's from 2013. Of course there is no ultrawide support, but community could still come up with a solution, probably...idk. It would be cool to see it in ultrawide though, but expecting it is a tad implausible.

I have been playing in ultrawide all the hours I have clocked in on Steam. Some weird stretching but it's minor.

No, friend. Steam will not flag this mod as cheating. I've looked through the files and everything looks safe. Have fun with the game
