Sun Crest and Dark Bahamut, I must have been tired...

I must have been tired because i walked out of the Yunalesca boss room without getting the crest. After some deliberation i decided to get some Auto-Phoenix armour setup and went in using Yojimbo. Zanmato for the win. I feel a bit dirty though. I bet Dark Bahamut was meant to be a challenge lol.

Don't worry you did not miss anything. The crest will not appear until you beat Dark Bahamut. As for using Yojimbo to beat him, the level of grinding required to get powerfull enough to fight dark Aeons fairly is insane. I love FF X but life is too short for that much grinding :)

That doesn't take that much grinding really. You do know about the Don Tonberry AP trick right? Makes "grinding" for AP ridiculously easy. The only part that I would consider grindy would be getting luck and fortune spheres.

More specifically, it appears after you get the airship, but Dark Bahamut appears after the fight with Sin's outer shell.

Sun Crest chest should actually be available as soon as you beat Yunalesca, unless this was a change between Int and base FFX.

Yes, you can get the Crest without beating Bahamut if you get it as soon as you beat Yunalesca. I already had the crest but in the end, I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the Bahamut with Zanmato too lol. I just wanted to fight Penance and get all achievements and didn't wan't to spend so much time grinding. I won a few Dark Aeons "legit" way but some of them are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I have no time to deal with them. I might someday do another "legit" run without Zanmato.

I bet Dark Bahamut was meant to be a challenge lol. If you're using Yojimbo and Zanmato there is NO challenge in the entire game so stop using it and we'll talk about that after ok?

This isn't true, you can get the sun crest literally just after you beat yunalesca. You just need to go up/down the stairs in the room to make the screen refresh to make the chest appear. Dark Bahamut has nothing to do with the crest at all, he just happens to block your path if you happened to miss getting the crest before.

Regardless, if you just want the crest after missing it the first time, then Yojimbo'ing it is the simpliest and quickest solution :P

You did a good job anyway, i did get my characters all max status on my PS2, and it took me more hours than you could imagine. All Dark Aeons are a chalange to beat, and Bahamut is still not as much dificult as Anima. I dont even recommend you get your characters status to 255 by grinding spheres, you will lost a lot of time with that, i already did that , you need to grind the same monster countless times, so thank god you used Yojimbo xD

Dark bahamut is the strongest dakr aeon iMO. it's the last one I beat and it took me a few tries... only penance left :p

This is not true. The Sun Crest is available immediately after you beat Yunalesca.

After beat Yunalessca you can pick Suncrest!!Oh!!I see you forgot didn't you??

Dark Bahamut is an an extremely boring fight anyway. He's not really much of a challenge (if your Chars are trained enough and you know what to do), he's just a trial of patience.
