How much harder than Nemesis is Penance?

With a party of (almost) maxed stats, Ribbon/Auto Haste/Phoenix on all 3 characters, I beat Nemesis fairly easily by just making sure I always had at least two people with auto life, and just kept hacking away at him, occasionally stopping to refill my mp. Never really got "close" or scary in any way.

Just going purely by stats, Penance isn't that much bigger. Anything in particular to look out for or can I just employ the same strategy and win with a little patience?

I'd say compared to Penance Nemesis is a joke. Still Penance is not a difficult fight as soon as you get the strategy down. It's just a long fight which you're not allowed to make wrong decisions to often.

EDIT:
Any Tip besides "Use Quick Attack" would be to much for that fight if you don't want the fun to be spoiled.

Penance has two arms with 500k HP each. They revive very fast after being destroyed, and both have really annoying abilities. Once you take 3million HP off the body, it'll enter its second form. In this form, if the body gets a turn while both arms are alive, you can say goodbye.
Auto-phoenix is kind of a hindrance in this battle, because if even one character dies, you screwed up your whole strategy.

Once you get the strategy going though, it's just a matter of time.
