Best Overdrive mode for each char.
So what do you guys think is the best overdrive mode for each char when they are in their standard roles?

Stoic is great for everyone unless you have some specific plan in mind.

That only works if you get hit.

When you get you're damage up (and maybe a few god weapons) i'd go worrior.
I always use warrior on any damage dealer in the party

I used comrade on everyone for most of the game. Near the end when everyone broke their damage limit I swapped to warrior though it wasn't really neccessary at that point lol.

Slayer for regular combat, Warrior for bosses, Healer for Yuna until she also gets some nice Black Magic. Rikku is on Ally or Victor or Comrade. Khimari, too, when I use him for stealing.

What is Khimari even good for? Do I just build him to a backup role?
Ghin May 23, 2016 @ 9:04am
I usually put Kimahri down Auron's path so he can actually hit hard.

Ghin may actually use the Expert Grid for that. ;) (The connecting path to Auron via Tidus has no blocks.)

On the Normal Grid, I'd say backup. Since there are Lv. 1 connecting blocks for Lulu, Tidus, Wakka and Rikku. In my game, he will always be a thief.

Khimari is a mix between Backup/Early Thief, Piercer, and Blue Mage. He tends to get Pierce weapons, allowing him to keep pace with Auron somewhat, and in the basic grid he is in the position to jump into anyones section, playing as a backup version of them, or going into Rikku section for her stuff, since she unlocks notably later.

I did not have any unlock spheres before I got Rikku.

More than some.

2 from pushing the Chocobo Eater down the cliff (none from regular kill), one from Rin before that, one on the road even before that. 3 on Moonflow road... as well as six (6!) from killing the Sinspawn during the Crusader operation.

Talk to all people on the road multiple times, talk to all people everywhere. Talk until the dialogue repeats. Many people give you presents. Open every chest. Sort your inventory! And just in case: only the first four spheres are displayed for Use. Scroll down for the rest.

You need exactly 2 to unblock Rikku's path so it can be done as early as the Mi'hen Highroad.

Yeah maybe I had them and did not want to waste them that early.

STORY: This is really hard to define because you wont have everything at your disposal early on unless you purposefully farm them all at the beginning of the game and it might be a chore to do that anyway. I would imagine comrade/warrior/slayer maybe until you are fast enough to end battles quick enough for victor? Sory I cant give a more concise answer for this one. Maybe someone else can help you here

ARENA:
a) Victor on everybody for every stat farm monster except Earth Eater and Greater Sphere. Kill Sleep sprout between each battle for teleport spheres, or one-eye. One eye is a 2hko but it drops some weapons you can sell for a lot of gil or use for the don tonberry trick. (don't kill dingo when you have other 1hko and 2hko that yield far better items)

b) Loner on Wakka (for earth eater and greater sphere)

c) Stoic / Comrade (for the Don Tonberry AP trick)

DARK AEONS, NEMESIS, AND PENANCE: (long battles)
Ally. It will charge faster than stoic or comrade due to how many turns you get from auto haste and max speed, and the fact that with protect and other defense/hp bonuses stoic/comrade will charge slower.

Finally remember that you can always use entrust. This ability will transfer the amount of overdrive charge from one character to another.

Do you ever look at the last post in a topic and realise that maybe, they've solved the problem in the last 4 YEARS?
