Lightning dodge trick

Don't know if this was posted here already, but to anyone having troubles with the ligtning dodging mini-game :

did it on my 2nd try in 20 minutes with this trick, the pattern makes it so you can predict when the lightning will strike, and you have a safe zone under the tower, allowing you to relax between hits, it made things SOOO much easier for me.

Now only the damned butterflies left T_T

Thats only really viable with no encounters (either through the booster or ability)

There is a cactuar stone and wall in the rear left of the south section of the plains. You can stand between them and dodge without enemies attacking you. It does take longer though than the method you've shown.

^ indeed, though getting a No Encounter weapon (or armor) is pretty easy as Geosgeano (sp?) pretty much always drops one. With the booster, you don't even need it I think (not sure, but I equipped one to be on the safe side)

thats the big fish guarding baaj isn't it? I don't remember getting any no encounter equipment from him back in the ps2 days.

Yes it is, I have gotten one from him pretty much every single time myself, but I hear it is not 100% drop chance, maybe you've been unlucky.

It's quite easy on PC anyway, since you have none of the output lag of a TV set and none of the input lag of the PS3's or PS4's bluetooth controller communication.

I hit 120 last night on my first go and that was leisurely inbetween navigating the plains, opening the chests, advancing the story and beating random encounters.

By the end of things I got zapped because lightning hit straight as I was transitioning out of the menu (really, really cheap...) otherwise I'd easily hit 200.

Does this affect the Acheivment? I've done this years ago on PS & really can't be bothered doing it again the regualr way.

Should note that Geo is unusual in that it can actually drop No Encounters WEAPONS. NE is usually not something found on weapons (and indeed cannot be added to weapons via customization) so you may simply have missed the drop because you did not expect it to be on a weapon. Geo is the only source in the game for NE weapons, and since it can only be fought once (for loot) you will get one max per game.

(Off-Topic: another unusual item is an armor for Tidus with Magic Counter, also usually found exclusively on weapons; this armor can be bought from the hover merchant you meet on your FIRST visit to the Calm Lands - and only there and then)

No, as it uses an external program to check for a screen colour change (the bright white), and then automatically sends an internal key press for you, rather than you physically press the key.

If you get frustrated with the chocobo race, you can find and adjust the number of balloons and birds hit after the race using Cheat Engine (the game doesn't calculate your time until after it displays the number of birds and balloons hit.)

This is the truth, i was trying it on PS4 months ago and i was in a rage. I didn't rememeber it being so hard so i did a quick google search and found out about this -.- Apparently all Smart TVs come with something called game mode to reduce the lag.. long rage story short, i did it on my first attempt in 15-20minutes after reducing the output lag.

Its weird, normally it doesn't come up but i have problems that cause my reaction speed to me slower than a normal person's. There is normally enough leeway in games that this doesn't matter but i I guess older games were more punishing as after hours and hours I can't do this challenge. What cheat engine did you guys use?

What is with people and the constant need to necro 3+ year old threads? I did it myself recently too, so this is not an attack, just an observation :D
