Should I play Final Fantasy 12 in PCSX2 or wait for Steam version?

I'd wait for the PC release, when they do port it it'll be the Zodiac Job System version.

I'm probably going to re-buy them all for PC, that is if they don't Square Enix up the PC release with obnoxious DRM and start selling you gil and LP in an in-game store :)

It's also important to remembere that the upcoming "remaster" isn't just a remaster; the entire game is being enhanced, not just the graphics. One very BIG improvement that I haven't seen anyone mention here is that the remaster wont' be gimped by effect capacity, which was IMO the most glaring flaw of the originals. That alone was enough to make me abandon my recent first ever playthrough of the IZJS when the Zodiac Age "remaster" was announced. I say wait so you can enjoy the game without one of it's most frustratingly bad flaws.

this and 12 will sell well compared to the others.. the others are really just for a certain type of gamer and also for the people who played it way back in the day. compared to stuff nowadays really didnt age well at all. in terms of gameplay and graphics and you know text place stuff instead of voice acting. lol

why this and 12 will do so well because with the HD port stuff more people are willing to try it out even new people to FF games and younger ones too. really if they want to sell the other games well they have to do a overhaul on those games now. i simple port and a touch up on the graphics wont do it and then they charge a lot for such a old game.

FFX HD has already sold 161,000 copies on Steam and will continue to sell a few more. Judging by Square Enix's response to the previous ports, this is more than enough of a positive response to keep porting.

By comparison, FFIX has been out over a month and hasn't even sold that many on Steam. And there's a large chunk of the fanbase that believes FFIX to be the best game in the franchise.

So rest assured, 12 will come.

It seems before that SE was expecting all of their FF releases to be like FF7, and they've realized now that was a mistake. FF7 Steam release was an aberration and it is entirely due to a generation of millennials with an overly fond attachment to that game. If you look at all the other FF games, the only other game that came close in Steam sales was FF8, and FF13 after that. Everything else is in the low hundred or even less than 100,000 copies sold.

Where are you getting the sales numbers?

You all should also remember 1 important detail about next year: FF 30th Anniversary! So prepare for big surprises next year!

I expect at least FF1&2 and FF12 on Steam until the end of next year, or at least 12 already announced for PC by the end of the year. ^^

I think it's inevitable it will come to Steam. Only question is if we'll have to wait a year like we did for FFX. So we're looking at a potential of 2 years to play an official PC version. If you can't wait that long might as well go for the emulated version

I don't know, pretty much anything capable of being referred to as a gaming computer can run PCSX2.

I had a computer with an AMD FX4100 (pretty low end CPU even by AMD standards) and a GTX760 in it, PCSX2 ran at full speed on it, and that computer was mainly on the network for serving (and transcoding) media with its 16TB of storage.

My current PC doesn't even kick the fans on running PS2 games from either ISOs or the actual game discs in my Blu-Ray drive.

depends on the game too.. like one audio all super slow and everything or just messy or just go full speed and its too fast too play lol. some moments play just fine then others freak out lol.. you need to play on a very good laptop or a decent pc desktop to run these well without hic ups lol that and depends on the copy of the game you download is in. if you get it that way. really i dont see the piont buying these games legally because the guys made this game dont get the money either way lol just uses copies of the game that hard to get in the first place. ( mostly pawnshops and online) lol
