Little tip on "skipping" Cutscenes
IDK if anyone already made something like this, or there is a mod to skip them but right now an easy way to fast forward the cut scenes for me is just using Cheat Engine and the build in Speed Hack. Imho, it also works better then the build in speed up, that makes my loading a lot longer sometimes and it just stops the game for some seconds once in a while, with cheat engine speed hack on x5, it never happens tho. Not to mention that with Speed Hack on Cheat Engine, your SFX stays on when speeding up.

So yea, you don't need to know anything about how to use cheat engine either, all you do is click the computer icon, select FFX and activate speed hack ^^

How have you gotten this to work? Enabling speedhack for the FFX exec and applying a value does absolutely nothing for me

Dude. . . THANK YOU!!! OH GOD THANK YOU!!! You're doing Yevon's work.

Flying through cutscenes/FMVs at 5x (or 10x, or more) is awesome enough, but being able to play at 2x with SFX is a huge bonus. I was pretty disappointed that the in-game feature cuts the effects audio.

Can confirm this works for me on Windows 7 64-bit. Not sure what other specs might be relevant.

This is going to sound dumb -- especially since you specifically said "applying" -- but you did click "apply", right? Even though I'm used to clicking apply/OK, I'm not used to using CE and I missed it the first time. Anyway, I hope you get this to work.

Cheat Engine speedhacking works a lot better with lower graphic settings and lower resolution in a window for me... otherwise, running on a too high speed, the game can "hang" for 5-8 seconds when a battle starts.

And I just find it really annoying all the scenes you can't skip in FFX-2 when you should be able to.

@Fonzy420

Yeah, this is gonna be incredibly useful for games in general. I'd only used CE once or twice and didn't even realize it has a speedhack.

[You likely know about this, and I'm sure most know about Project X, but just for anyone who stumbles on this thread and isn't aware of the update yet]:

Also I just found out Kaldaien has added speed boost w/ SFX and a cutscene speed-through/skip feature to his Untitled Project X mod. You can toggle through the speeds with the pad or kb, and configure the max speed (can go to at least 8x), the steps/increments, and at what speed dialog is skipped in cutscenes. It doesn't speed through FMVs, but it does add a skip feature to most of them so far. Pretty awesome.

The speed boost/cutscene skip instructions haven't been added there yet. Here they are:

Skip: https://github.com/Kaldaien/UnX/releases/tag/unx_055

I prefer using Kaldaien's Untitled Project X.

Of course, so will most people, but if you looked you saw this was posted before you could do it with Project X...

Didn't notice. Hihihi

Since I got to Mi'hen Highroad -- the 2nd area so far wherein the mod's speedhack doesn't affect running-around speed (the first being the forest that leads to Kilika temple) -- I've been mostly keeping CE on 2x all the time, using the mod on top of that for cutscenes. I assume the mod will be updated to fix the areas that don't work, but until then it's a nice workaround.

Cheat engine doesn't for this for me either, you used the typical cheat engine on their site, and what version?
Roger Feb 18, 2018 @ 10:05pm
I'll give the cheat engine a shot and the mod what Fortnight posted. as much i like the cutscenes in FFX, i want to skip them every time i replay the game.
