If you were to just clear the stuff needed to advance the story it would be shorter then FFX, but its best to do all the other stuff avilable to get the story and the better endings.
there's four endings you can get, the bad ending, the normal ending, the good ending which needs 70% or more of the game complete along with two certain events and the 100% perfect ending.
Thank you for the information guys, it's appreciated. I have another question; how important is X-2 for the story? That is could one be satisfied with how FF X ends, does it end in some kind of cliffhanger and playing FF X-2 is a must if you want the full story?
