How do you Hire players for blitzball?

I can open up their stats, but after that no matter what I press it just diasppears, I'm just past Macalania Forest in the game, just before fighting the mana canon, Do I have to progress to get the option?

You can as soon as you get the option to play Blitzball. There are tiers to who you can hire at certain points though.

I can't seem to hire even at scout level 1. Do you have to win matches first or something? this is driving me nuts, I really want to get the blitzball prizes!

It's linked to your team level. I would have thought you could hire level one players though.

You cant hire players til after the initial tournament, and you walk up and press Z

Its not working, I just won one match (Exhibtion) and it said you are currently level 1. Still can't recuit anyone, I'm in guadosalam right now and it won't let me hire anyone!

Are you trying to hire the right people? Are you pressing the right key? Not everyone is a Blitzball player.

I press Z, the menue pops up with all their Details, Salary. contract etc. After that, no matter what button I press, it either does nothing or the menue goes away. I have pressed everysingle key on the keyboard after getting the menue up by pressing Z. nothing works.

OKay, so I found out why it wasn't working, You can only Hire Blitzball players that are marked FREE. So I'm sorted. Thanks for the help everyone!
