Rikku using al bhed potion is a good counter to the poison breath and petrify. Unless of course she's the one who gets petrified.
Slow spell works for him too, and you can haste yourself to make the difference in speed even more insane. If I remmeber correctly, the boss can use haste too so make sure to slow him down when he does that. Stay away from him and pound him with ranged attacks. Good luck.
How's your gear? Do you have anything that can protect against petrification or posion? And do you set up the haste right away? I've always been a big fan of Lulu and Rikku with haste for this fight cause Lulu can do damage near or far and Rikku can heal with Al Bhed potions.
When he breathes in for his spray, tell Cid to pull back and you shouldn't be hit. Pull in when you get a chance next. Use Lulu/Wakka for ranged attacks, use others for up close beat down. When he gets low, he will cast Haste on himself. Just continue smacking him, and when he breathes on you, have Rikku use Al Bhed Potions to cure and get rid of the ailments.
Gear against petrification/poison is not necessary at all.
I know this is extremely tedious, but everytime you get into combat, get everyone in the party to do something in the battle so they all gain experience. Even something as little as Auron using guard. Keeps everyone strong! 8)
Not saying this is necessary, but if I don't get everyone in, I sort of feel guilty. >.>
Yep i was gridding too on this boss.
I only used yuna Auron and tidus back on ps2 and I am starting to feel that is worth it to train every one at the same time on my pc play through...
My lulu was actually my strongest until sin boss fight because yuna just takes over lulu right after she learn flare so it's worth it to level lulu so yuna can just teleport over
If I am not mistake I did tried delay attack on him but it was immune to it at lease on my end here
