It literally tells you what it is when you click but:

f1- speed booster - 2x and 4x. They seem to get rid of sound effects in battle which is silly. FFIX didnt have this issue
f2 - supercharge - from what i had in FFIX is maxes out HP and MP as well as has permanent overdrive
f3 - no encounters
f4 - auto battle (why?)
f5 - turn of map image

The auto battle would be handy when combined with the speed booster to speed up the monster capture side quest.

I feel like with the speed booster I would still click the menu just as quickly as auto, and would auto run into the issue of using magic? (I honestly dont know I haven't gotten that far) - unless you're really determined to multi task while capturing?

Typically in past playthroughs, I started the side quest when I was able to hit for 9999 with physical attacks so magic wasn't really a factor. Also magic runs the risk of killing a fiend which would be pretty annoying the case of capturing a tonberry.

Auto battle literally just uses basic attack command. It's perfect for capturing quest with other boosters activated yes.

Good to know. Thanks!

I haven't tried this yet, but if you go into settings and set your battle cursor position to "memory" instead of "default," you can probably use spells with auto battle
