There's also an Al bhed woman outside Macalania temple you can only recruit before the bossfight in that area. or much later in the game after beating another super boss so definitely pick her up. I believe her name is Linna
Here's my list.
-Forwards
Tidas, easy.
Wakka, if you wait to play blitzball until you get the airship and recruit him then, or you reset all the data...
Larbeight, simply an animal and high attack for a forward, making him a multidimensional power forward.
-Midfielders
Linna, low endurance... but killer stats everywhere else! Best mid fielder ever imho.
Kiyuri, low beginning stats, but she gets gains! Same reason as Linna, just barely less than her.
-Defenders
Ropp, easy, he's the consensus #1 defender in the game.
Kulukan, also most people acknowledge her #2 best defender ranking. The game gets stupid easy with those 2
-Goalie
Nimrook, easy easy easy choice. Simple. Only problem is leveling him when he never gets tested from my defenders listed above....
Honorable mentions:
-defenders... last line of defense! YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
Irga Ronso, at higher levels, she has power stats... if only she weren't so dang slow! (42) *use as midfielder.
Zev Ronso, faster than Irga, (57 SP), probably best used as defender later, midfielder early on.
Navara Guado, super fast, and although early MF for Glories, later levels he's a power house defender. 84 SP.
-midfielders... Engage well, spread the ball around well.
Brother, has decent stats and well balanced, and SUPER FAST! He is like a sideline to sideline NFL LB.
Mifury, very great EN and PASS. Decent other stats. Warning, starts with 20 SP, 69 SP later in game.
Vuroja, other than average SP 60, his other stats are better than the other 2 listed above him.
-forwards
Vilucha, pure offense, no other use imaginable.
Shaami, lesser faster clone of Vilucha. Only offensive use.
Nedus, fast, super fast at lvl 60, before, NOT fast. High endurance and shot, but speed gets you in position!
Basik/Argai, super slow tanks, but both over 84 EN and 80 SH.
Isken, Larbeight's little bro without the AT skill. 99 freaking endurance! 81 SH. No other use.
Datto, fast, 90 SP, only 62 SH, but I had to plug at least one Auroch original.
Keepa, I know, 2nd Auroch?? but at lvl 99 he has 99 SH. Slow at 53 SP, but who cares, only player with 99 SH.
-goalie
Wedge, CA 62 @ lvl 99 Only good at goalie once he hits the 70's in levels.
Nizarut, CA 60 @ lvl 99 Slow start, but viable by lvl 40's.
Miyu, only good in low levels till about 30-40.
Zamzi, if you want a Ronso, and if you don't mind settling for less. 4th best at end game. 55 CA @ lvl 99.
You can actually still recruit her afterword. She moves positions from the road to the front of the temple. You can walk all the way up to the temple and get her there. She costs 900g per game though, costy, but she's my main midfielder. Totally worth it!
I think you mean Zalitz. Tatts is on the end of the dock in Kilika. Both are good early on and Tatts is pretty good even at higher levels. A lot to like about him.

The point is that you HAVE the fastest team around and your entire team is involved in encounters and defense, so you're not relying on one single player to block and defend at any point in time.
Share your blitz team and why it works for you or what you think of mine :)
Ropp has high endurance, doesn't matter because he's slow. He'll contstanly be against 3-4 players and wither tackle will resolve any issues i have with his high stats. Not only does he have a low endurance but his block is low as well. So having a high attack doesn't matter that much. If he gets the ball, he can't run away because he's slow and he'll get caught in a 2-1 which he can't beat because of his low other stats.
I actually really like your team. I see the reasons for going speed. I really considered doing that already before. I looked for speed primarily, but I also don't think its better or worse than the model I use. Simply because, as I see it, its just a different way to play the game. I can score a lot of shots every game without having any players above 60 SP. By a lot I mean almost 10 a game. My defense has never been an issue. In fact, my 2 main defenders, Ropp and Kulukan, are usually over leveling themselves past all my other players cuz they're so good at encounters when they get in them. The AI is so stupid it doesn't take advantage of their average 60 SP, except by accident sometimes. That is why I disagree with Ropp and Kulukan and a few others being bad options. For example, his speed is as good as all other players besides a few. Using brawler and elite defense he can be paced behind some faster players and still catch them and join in most all encounters without needing high speed. Plus, when he's in the encounter, his attack puts him top of the list, so the other defenders who have lower attack but maybe higher block actually get to use their block skill (This is due to the opponent shooter usually trying to break past one and shoot past the rest for a goal or pass.) So they will always be met with the best attacker in the game, Ropp, and followed up by the the 2nd best attacker, and high blocker as well. I like specific roles and the computer plays into that game very easily. I like 1v1 encounters and beating them. Plus, without having to gang up on anyone it allows most of my other players to remain in location for faster passing around and scoring. Its not the best, just the best for me. I like my style. Maybe others can learn from some of what I do.
I don't think Ropp is a bad choice i just don't like his bad endurance. In my original PS2 playthrough everyone was 99 and i had Ropp as a defender. When the AI was huddled up on my net. He would get the ball but then immedialy be forced into a 1v3 because of his speed and his low endurance. I relied on his pass to get it through the last 2 but that was luck mostly asumming he didn't lose the ball with his 46 endurance.
I just wanna pick one solid team without changing players, because there is no guarantee that the ai will level them for me :/ but before i do any of this i'll grind the overdrives and sigil with resets. :)
Catcher Chocobo is the easiest for me :/ I don't have trouble with that mini game for some reason.
