So I've finished this game many times before and read that there is an all items/max gil option. Where/when is it?

In the ingame menu. Those extra cheat settings basically ruin the game. Good thing it's a single player game.

For the most part I agree with you. Being given unlimited gil and all items ruins the game for me. And I probably won't ever be using the no encounter option. But I do find the increased enounter rate option useful when I'm leveling. Sure it makes leveling quicker, but I still have to work for it. It just doesn't take as long because rather than going in circles until the next random encounter, I only take a couple steps.

No. Cheat as much as you like.

No, in fact some of them will give you some achievements if you don't have them already... Found that one out when I tried to see what the "give all skills" did.
