Items can be missed

SInce there is no indication when you are standing next to an item that can be picked up. If the ground is hidden in your view you can miss items. Best to hit the appropriate button often to check these areas.

I think that the only missable items are in Bevelle's cloister and via purifico, every other location should be visitabile later in the game.

Bevelle and Home are 2 areas that you cannot revisit.

Home is the place you really need to worry about as far as missables go. Make sure you get those Al Bhed Primers

Technically there are missable items in the Bevelle cloister area, but nothing to worry about. The important chest is not missable.
