yea i dont kno if we cna ever get an objective consensus on 7 cuz of the nostalgia being the first one ppl played and first 3d rpg for many lol

first one i played was the original on nes. second one i beat was FF4. its also among one of the best stories. along with 6. but 9 trumps them both. 8 is nonsensical and has an unlikable protaganist. 12 is alright once you get used to it tho. and x is pretty good despite some of its cringe worthiness

Six has the best and most coherent story.... 7's is alright but a little confusing.

After 7 they intentionally make it super confusing and poorly explained followed the logic of "The more complicated the idea is, the better it must be! That's why Time Cube is a mainstream religion!"

I did like Lightning Returns' plot... but that's because I also happened to enjoy it when it was called "Majora's Mask"

7,8 and 9 have by far the best story imo.
4,6 and 10 are super great too.

Best games ever, X is no different.
X-2 has terrible storyline though but it has the same world so its idk.. alright i guess lol
