Turning OFF Subtitles?

I can't seem to figure out a way to turn off subtitles. I just want to play with English language, no subtitles. Am I missing something?

Go to the menu and turning them off under "config" should do the trick.

If you use the Japanese voice mod probably best not to do this unless you understand Japanese. :P

@Nice, not sure I follow... there doesn't appear to be any option for this on the main settings screen[s32.postimg.org], nor does there appear to be anything for this in the audio[s32.postimg.org] menu in-game. I even tried editing the config file manually, but there's nothing for subtitles.

@Danny, no intent on playing any other languages. As OP says, all I'm asking for is English language with no subs.

Nice means the main menu where you go to the character status screen or your sphere grid. There should be a config option in the list.

You have to do it in the in-game menu, the one where you can see your party members and choose their gear, sphere grid etc.

Aaaah. Never mind, found it! I hadn't reached the sphere grid tutorial yet, so I didn't have access to that menu. Sorry, it's been a while since I've played this game. Thanks again!

Yes, this is correct, just saw it in game. That's fine, I don't mind that. I just find the English subtitles distracting, especially when I don't need them to comprehend what's going on.

Necropost af but thanks for the post. I just started a new save so I'm literally still in the intro before the Blitzball game and I'm like why can't I turn these blasted subtitles off XP. Gotta wait for that tutorial lol. Cheers!
