Don't need to beat ffx-2 to play it, but storywise it does come after ffx-2 and plays out like a epilogue, although nothing big really happens. The gameplay is closer to a roguelike type game.

No as with several other features in FFX-2 it was just part of the International version which until the remaster of both games was released on the PS3 was not released outside of Japan.

i just bought remastered version soo hapy the eternal calm scene filled in alot of details i beat both games on ps2 but now i can fight penance and dark aeons just wish i could drag my save over oh well, more fun gameplay for me
