Umm cheats?
Why is there a built in cheat option in the game?

Can you still unlock achievements with this crap enabled?

You sound severly upset by there being a cheat option. Yes you can still unlock meaningless achievements with them enabled.
its been a common thing with the pc/ ps4 ports to include a optional cheat system to allow those who have basically bought/played this game 4+ times to boost past this
Yes, let's complain about the completely optional cheats.

For ♥♥♥♥'s sake.

I would rather say for these who play it first time.
its hard to say, people who are just acheivement hunting would abuse these, most gamers new to the series would generally play it normal to enjoy what made this game it is today.

For those who want to experience the story and/or cut out some of the more time consuming grindy aspects of the game.

Yes.
Exactly what is wrong with games these days.

This kind of crap plagues every MMO release for the past 5 years.

BABY MODE.
Thats why attack with 9999 damage is the number one achievement.

A valid complaint in a multiplayer game, this however is not an MMO. Unless you lack the self control to not use them, I'm not seeing the issue.

Self control is all I have.

Yeah, how dare those people demean the incredibly important and meaningful video game achievements? How will I impress someone enough to have sex with me if they think I cheated to unlock that one achievement in a JRPG from the early 2000's?

Game could do with an al bhed primer cheat
The funny thing is they put in the cheats for all the wrong things, we need a cheat to skip chocobo racing, lightning dodging 200x and butterfly catching....... UGH!..

Yes though it is better than previous releases with the fact that once you turn them on, they are permament. You couldn't beat enemy so you used cheat? You will fight all of them with cheats.

The boosters in the other games were permanent. this game has 3 permanent boosters and a handful of non permanents (like 2x/4x speed, increased encounter rate, no encounter rate etc)

Don't fret. There is possibly hope for you that one day..possibly once you turn old enough to drink in 10 years you'll learn not to care how others enjoy their single player experience that in no way affects you.
