Nor this is Seymour : http://i.imgur.com/X2nhie0.jpg
or this emotionless thing is Yuna : http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/511280Sanstitre13.png

I'm really disapointed. FFX is one of my favorite ff game, i can't count how many times i did it and i had a big crush on tidus when i was younger, but ... this is a totaly no no. I was excepting a lot from this remaster, but i feel betrayed in many ways. :/

Based on those screenshots it also looks as if they've even managed to drain colour from the game.

O.o Wakkas face on the left picture he looks like he would be talking in a nice way. On the right picture He looks like a angry aggro bear.

If you're just looking at those comparison pics, I think at least the Yuna ones, and probably the others were done wrong. It looks like the PS2 screenshots were taken at a 4:3 resolution and stretched to 16:9, making their faces appear wider than they should be. Here's a more accurate comparison done by DigitalFoundry from when the HD remaster was released on consoles last year...
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-final-fantasy-x-x2-hd-remaster-ps4-face-off

The differences look much less significant there, and seem to be more down to slightly different hair and lighting effects. The faces do look a bit different, but those comparison shots seemed to be exaggerating the wideness in the originals.

Edit: Linked to their article, since Steam apparently didn't let me embed the video.
Yo this ariticle seems to be about ps3 version versus the ps4. Maybe the video compares all three of them, but I couldn't get the video to work.

In the original you can actually sense the determination. In the remaster is just a damn doll.
The left one looks clearly better.

Remastered looks worse than the original, it's true

The faces are actully fine for the most part. Sometimes in certain scenes the lips looks screwed up, but the faces are mostly fine. What completely messes the whole thing up are the eyes and eye lids. They look like they're about to pop out of their skulls and as a result they have a this perpetual look of surpise, bewilderment and constipation all at the same time. The expressions are off as well, but that's to do with animations, not that actual facial textures and structure. Seriously, it's not the faces. It's the animations and mostly the eyes.

I already knew about Tidus, Yuna and most of the other playable characters (lol Wakka), but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they really went lazy with Seymour.

The cheap character model remasters and the soundtrack changes are what kept me from considering the HD console versions and the PC version is no different.

I am the author of the two Yuna screenshots.

At the time, I made these two screenshots for a french forum in December 2013, based on the japanese PS3 version released before the european version. I captured the images on different youtube videos and makes two comparisons. The image of the PS2 version is crushed because it is not from an PCSX2 emulator, it's really the original resolution displayed by the console. I do not know why I have not taken images of the emulated version, perhaps because I wanted to show the "true version" shown on PS2.

But when you look closer, the textures of HD Remaster are by far higher than the PS2 textures, so there is no need to complain about it ;)

Maybe someone would create a PC mod to replace the original PS2 faces of Tidus and Yuna haha!

I think it's clear that the faces arent bad yes, but it's a whole thing and at some points, even if the textures are good and the faces are pretty, it's just not the same character.
For a game this old, you have more time to really feel bound to them and changing their faces asset now is disturbing.

They always had like 3-4 different faces in FFX. In the cutscenes some of them Tidus looks like he's Japanese xD

You guys can get the PS2 looks and appearences if you just turn the system graphics settings (while in-game) to low.

There is a very good, and horrible reason as to why all the facial expressions, faces, and nuance was changed or removed from Final Fantasy X remaster.

Square-Enix had lost/gotten rid of the original source and development code for Final Fantasy X, so they had to remake the game from scratch for the "Remastered" version.

For the most part, they eye balled their version against the original, using the PS2 International disc data to help get the new version as close to the original as they code.

As pointed out though, they lost so much in the process, or just didn't notice it.

Way to necro a thread that's almost a decade old now.

Is the attitude really necessary? You feel better now? Leave people alone.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
