O.o Wakkas face on the left picture he looks like he would be talking in a nice way. On the right picture He looks like a angry aggro bear.
The cheap character model remasters and the soundtrack changes are what kept me from considering the HD console versions and the PC version is no different.
I am the author of the two Yuna screenshots.
At the time, I made these two screenshots for a french forum in December 2013, based on the japanese PS3 version released before the european version. I captured the images on different youtube videos and makes two comparisons. The image of the PS2 version is crushed because it is not from an PCSX2 emulator, it's really the original resolution displayed by the console. I do not know why I have not taken images of the emulated version, perhaps because I wanted to show the "true version" shown on PS2.
But when you look closer, the textures of HD Remaster are by far higher than the PS2 textures, so there is no need to complain about it ;)
Maybe someone would create a PC mod to replace the original PS2 faces of Tidus and Yuna haha!
Wakka is from far my favorite, look at this demon face.

I think he plan to eat someone with bbc sauce.
I think it's clear that the faces arent bad yes, but it's a whole thing and at some points, even if the textures are good and the faces are pretty, it's just not the same character.
For a game this old, you have more time to really feel bound to them and changing their faces asset now is disturbing.
There is a very good, and horrible reason as to why all the facial expressions, faces, and nuance was changed or removed from Final Fantasy X remaster.
Square-Enix had lost/gotten rid of the original source and development code for Final Fantasy X, so they had to remake the game from scratch for the "Remastered" version.
For the most part, they eye balled their version against the original, using the PS2 International disc data to help get the new version as close to the original as they code.
As pointed out though, they lost so much in the process, or just didn't notice it.
Is the attitude really necessary? You feel better now? Leave people alone.
