Well if we go through what a dressphere might potentially be. Which is a pocketed dimension holding clothing and or weapons in which they use there mind or emotion etc to transfer the items out of the dresspshere onto themselves. It doesn't actually seem that far fetched, not as far fetched as ffx story but i won't go into details as it will spoil everything.

The only thing i don't understand is the skills. Other than it says they are basicly transforming into another person because the sphere's often contained other peoples emotions and stuff.

As to yuna changing from a nun to a pop star. Yeah it is a bit stupid however, she is "the summoner to beat sin" Don't you think a lot of people would be fans and she would be popular. Also what other course of job would she take. The whole reason she went on the pilgrim is to bring people happiness for only a limited time. She is selfless and just wants to make people happy. Now look at all the possible job angles and tell me what other ones suit a famous person that wants to make people happy. I guess a doctor but it doesn't really go well with being famous, yeah it fits her personality but being that famous would cause a lot of problems with having to turn down clients etc. And someone like yuna could never do that in good conciences.

But am i, in no way defending this game it was pretty stupid and needless. However i am saying they didn't have very many options that could fit with the characters and when ya get right down to it. There choices weren't that "bad" it just wasn't what fans wanted nor expected. Which again is the reason ffx-2 failed it wasn't a horrible game, just not a game fans wanted. It was a lost the second they created the game.

I have no idea tbh, wouldn't suprise me as I doubt many would notice if she was even there. I actually used her on my first playthrough lol but that was only because both my brother and my best friend told me she was uselss along with Balthier, so I used both to prove a point. Turns out they were both fine to use from start to finish.

For me, I couldn't stand Vanille. I normally like "cloud cuckulander" characters, but she goes so far off the deep end of quirkiness that it negates any redeeming qualities she would have of she wasn't completely bland to begin with.

Well, Rinoa was an idiot without redeeming personality.

She was repeatedly portrayed as being an airhead with little comprehension skills (contract scene with SeeD, for example). She had a messiah complex and repeatedly displayed tantrums, ignoring agreed upon plans or demanding for the sake of demanding, occasionally resulting in near failure of missions/quests (such as during the Edea assassination/parade sequence). She showed very little semblence of empathy or loyalty to others, switching her "romantic interest" from Seifer to Squall at a drop of the hat as soon as it became more convenient to do so.

She had a cute dog, though. So I guess she wasn't without any merits.

I agree, its the love switching that really winds me up about her and it was a toss up for me between Penelo and Rinoa, but when I consdiered the reasons to start the journey for each. I honestly couldn't find Penelo's beyond her friend was going.

You have to include the secondary theory. That Ultimecia (sp?) is Rinoa from the future. That's the part that adds layers since somewhere along the line she actually becomes a badass.

Just furthers Squall's crazy to me :) I have such a hate for the relationship that is formed between Rinoa and Squall, no matter the version you choose to see, I just don't like either of them.

EDIT: Square has directly stated that Rinoa is definitely not Ultimecia.

It would be in the Final Fantasy VIII Ultimania were, in response to this theory, Square-Enix points out the singular great flaw in the whole idea. The theory's only support was that the Sorceresses have extend lifespans and when SE pointed out that wasn't true and remind everyone that Ultimecia's only motivation was that she didn't want to die ruins the theory.--Ether101 Prime 10:41, January 2, 201
