FFX-2 Check Chocobo potential level?

apparently there is a way to see if a chocobo ahs the potentil to reach level 5, but i cant find out and am wastign a lot of time adn greens levelling them up, i only have 1 so far, where do i check to see their potential?

Go up to the chocobo in its stall and inspect it (physically go there, not using the Chocobrowser), it will tell you the maximum level it can reach.

If the chocobo uses choco meteor in the battle. then it can be raised to level 5. If it doesn't, max level is 4 from what I can tell.

I got several chocos that use meteor and there max level was 4
