Sun Sigil

Reading some posts about that minigame "chocobo race" I am aware, that it can be won.

But...

For me it's enough to see, that there is another minigame upcoming and that's it for me. I'm sooo fed up with that kind of stuff that I can't express it with educated words.

Short question:

Is there any other way to get this sigil?

No, it's the only way to obtain it.

You can use some Cheat tools of some sort tho if you can't obtain it, if it is too hard (I find it quite easy tho, never had any problems obtaining it on my last FF X playthroughs).

Just warm up for a bit. Like 1hr bit. Hahaha. When you're already pissed, switch to another mini-game.

EDIT: I think I went a bit off topic but, other than that damned race, that's the only way to get it. Other ones would be by save editing, which I don't think is recommended.

You don't need to warm up for that long, usualy you know if you "can" win, if you get the right early pattern, where you can snack 4~5 Balloons easily by barely moving the chocobo, after that you just need to dodge these Birds (I usualy do this by BIG left and right maneuvers) and snack a few more balloons which usualy end up beeing in a good position if you got the right pattern.

Thx for all the good advices and hints.

But as I said, this is a personal, absolute and total aversion against these minigames,
paired with annoyance against devs, who don't offer a second way for obtaining important stuff, like it is quite usual nowadays (although... when was this game originaly released...2001, right? )

So, I skipped the entire grinding stuff and went on to the final battle. Until now it goes well, although a bit tedious without the ultimative weapons / spells etc.

I need help, I tried to obtain the sigil before getting the mirror. I obtained a 0.0.0 time but I obtained nothing (after that I went for the mirror and Tidus´ ultimate weapon)

If you didn't obtain anything, maybe you got an exact time of 0:0:0. If I remember right, you need to have a time of less than 0:0:0 to get the sigil.

I dont feel like re-doing it again. Anyway, I just beated Seymour in mount gagazet . Do I need to power grind to beat the final bosses?

I have almost finished everybody´s main Sphere Grid

If you got the right gear (elemental wards, status wards/proof, etc), you never need to grind for any of the bosses.

The story bosses are all trivial, including the final one.

The real bosses are from the Monster Arena, and the Dark Aeons. All optional superbosses that require a boatload of grinding, so if that's not your thing just ignore them.

Thanks guys, to tell the truth I´ll just beat the story and someday finish all the side stuff. I have many games I need to beat (I dislike having unfinished games)

You don't know true pain until you get 0.2 seconds or 0.0 and dont get the sigil.

Alright I know I am WAY late to this question but I was looking up how to get the Sun Sigil and I came across this thread. I did end up getting the Sigil after about an hour of trying and I did it with hitting 12 balloons, no birds and finishing at 32.06 seconds. My best advice if you are still stuck on it after these few years is you shouldnt worry about the trainer and focus on getting the balloons that are in a diagonal form since the birds will start heading towards you more if you go for the balloons that are straight ahead of you. I hope this helps and if you have done it then i hope it helps the next person that finds this thread!

This was the side(but mandatory) quest that finally burned me out from all final fantasy games. After substituting the cds for clay pigeons, I never played another FF game. Between this and the God awful.choco breeding in 7 the franchise holds 0 interest for me.
