Final Fantasy X-2 stuck in Bevelle?

I'm stuck in Bevelle in New Yevon's HQ, (the temple with all the monks and stuff around it) and supposedly all I have to do is step up onto the platform and it will open something or activate a glyph... I've read walkthroughs and watched video walkthroughs but there is no glyph and now I guess I'm stuck here eternally? someone please help.

There are two glyphs at the east and west sides of the room. Activaet them both and a passage will open. You need to then examine the hologram type thing and change it so the platform takes you down into the fog (this is if you're in the story part of chapter 2, which I assume you are).
