Special is one of the 3 types of parts, and Z is one of the potency, the strongest IIRC.
You generally want to avoid digging much until you can fight the Experiment though, as there is % for defeating it before and after it reaches max power... I think.
So you would have to be intentionally doing it for quite a while to 'accidently' max out the experiment before Chapter 5 when it's useful to do so.
"To get an Episode Complete for Djose, the player must defeat the Experiment at Level 5."
100% guide:
"* 'Challenge Of Machina Faction's Self-Confidence Work', First Defeat The Non-Strong
Machina, Defeat The Machina Again When It's At Its Strongest State, Episode Complete!
* Fight It At Level 5 For The First Time Will Also Do; By Doing That, You Won't Need Any
Repair Item And You Will Still Get An Episode Complete!"
So if I understand it correctly, by digging assembly parts you upgrade Experiment's stats. You can fight him either before he's fully complete or after he's fully assembled but you can get 100% completion only by defeating him when he's at his strongest. Apparently you can fight him multiple times.
I could look for you considering the FFX-2 Piggyback guide is sitting literally at arms length on my desk lol.
Yeah.. 5 repair manuals. So 6 fights max I suppose that means.
you must fight the Experiment twice. Once before all of his parts are dug up and once after all of his parts of dug up, in order to attain the 100%. If I am misunderstanding please help me out!
You need to break it at least once and then repair it; and then you need to fight it at maximum power. JUST fighting it at maximum power without it ever breaking before will cost you some completion %.
Many guides warn you against this, but it's honestly not that easy to screw up. You'd need to do a LOT of digging in early chapters for this, like probably 100 digs or so.
