Celestial Weapon Bug ?

So i did the whole Chocobo training stuff and the guy still blocks the way to Tidus weapon. I was able to upgrade Tidus' weapon even though i dont own it, but now i want to upgrade Kimahris weapon and the game says i dont have it even though i can equip it for him, just with the "No AP" ability. I have both Crest and Sigil for his weapon as well.

Kind of hard to say without seeing, never heard of this. Make sure you did the side events in Macalania Woods with the family and you have the Celestial Mirror, then beat the chocobo trainer in Catcher Chocobo to make the old man in the northern Calm Lands move to reach the Caladbolg. If you already have the Spirit Lance though then I'm assuming you already have the Celestial Mirror and it shouldn't be a problem if you go up the starry path in the woods and go to the spot where the kid was to upgrade the weapons.

First off, you have to win the Chocobo race against the Chocobo Trainer to get the person in the gorge to move. If you leave the area before getting the Caladbolg, and then go back, the person will be blocking the Caladbolg again, and you'll have to re-race the Chocobo Trainer.

Secondly, it sounds like you cheated to get your weapon or something. There is no way that you could upgrade Tidus' Caladbolg when you don't have it. There is no way. It isn't a glitch. It isn't possible without some sort of cheat. So you either cheated, or you actually did get the Caladbolg.

Third, much like the second point, it sounds like you cheated for Kimahri's weapon. Either that or you don't actually have the Saturn Crest/Sigil. You can't have those weapon and the crest/sigil, and it just won't work. Again, you either cheated, or you don't have the required items.

I did not cheat, why would i cheat for Kimahris weapon? Getting it in the Thunder Plains is super easy. I got the Sun Sigil and Crest. Can u normally select every character at the stone thingy where u upgrade the Celestial weapons ? I can choose every character and with only the sun crest and sigil i was able to upgrade Tidus's weapon even though i dont have it.

You probably DO own the Caladbolg. Auto-sort your Equipment and look for the weapon.

I dont. Like i said the path to the Caladbolg is blocked. I have 4 weapons i can equip for Tidus.

Go into items, then equipment, then auto-sort, add see what's in there.

It is auto-sorted in the Screenshots. So Tidus' weapon should be somewhere at the top where all his weapons are. Also there's two screenshots of all the weapons i can equip on him.

For what it's worth, you're not the first person to have this problem with Kimahri's weapon. Seems like a genuine (but rare) bug. https://steamcommunity.com/app/359870/discussions/0/357287935539001543/

I wouldn't be surprised if the game somehow ended up flagging your pickup for Kimahri's weapon as being for a different character's weapon (probably Tidus in your case). I guess the upgrade process then checks the flag for the weapon pickup instead of looking for the actual weapon itself. That seems really strange to me, but since it both lets you upgrade something you don't have and refuses to let you upgrade something you have, that's the only real possible scenario I can think of.

Either way, I doubt you're gonna be able to fix this without editing your save using Farplane or FFXED (Farplane being the easier option but I'm not sure if it lets you make a real Celestial weapon). There's threads and/or guides for both.

Ok since this thread is already up I will post my issue here :)

I decided that since I am on my third run of FFX I would allow myself to use the powerups and skillgains that was added with the HD addition. Altho I think this might have majorly sc*ewed me over when it comes to Wakka's crest/sigil that you get after you get all of his overdrive reels via Blitzball.

Now that I obtained all skills through the 'Change parameters' menu, I have all of Wakka's reels, but, I did not earn them through blitzball. So somehow my game registers that I do have them, but blitzball seem to also register that I have not earned them through playing, so I am not getting Wakka's cres or sigil as a price. I have soft reset the game probably 100 times and it just won't show. Neither do the reels so I can't win them either -.- Also used Wakka as one of my mains so he has, for sure, done his 450 battles requirement as well.. Anyone else who has experienced this? or know of similar issues?

Just use FFXED to edit Wakka's Sigil and Crest into your game. The problem most likely has something to do with using the in-game cheats menu to get all of the skill reels.

Also, if you don't want to immediately cheat the crest and sigil into your inventory, you can use FFXED to edit the Tournament and League prizes.

Also, little precision, it's only the sigil that needs Blitzball. The crest is in the Aurochs locker room.

Apparently, this happens with other Celestial Weapons too. I have the Onion Knight for Lulu and the Godhand for Rikku, plus the required sigils/crests but the weapons are not registering as being obtained.

This happened with me too, but in my case it was with Tidus's Sun Sigil, the chocobo trainer gave me a turbo ether instead of the sun sigil, but i got the Chocobo Racing achievement.
