The catcher mini-game is annoying, but, the lightning dodging becomes easy when you learn how to cheese it. The problem with the lightning dodge is you don't know how many you've dodged until you go and check the prize. I cannot state how many times I've "thought" I've done 200, only to find out I was a few off and had to START ALL OVER AGAIN!.
I get lucky with the catcher game though, usually do it within the first 3-5 attempts. There's only been once where it took literal hours, and by the end of it I wanted to throw my computer out of the window xD.
That's just one player I found who made a better early game forward, there are probably plenty more. It's funny that Square gave Wakka and Tidus such poor stats.
Can you twist your game into playing in ways that play to other people's strengths more, by getting your forwards into situations they'd otherwise not get into? Sure. That's your choice. It doesn't change the fact that no one is better at getting goals than Tidus, just because you can intentionally play it in a way that makes him worse at certain things.
As long as you only face a maximum of 2 defenders, Tidus effectively has INFINITE stats. He can never lose a 2-defender break. Ever. No one can do better than that, as the SHT score is largely irrelevant against any goalie but Nimrook, who you can (and should) just recruit yourself.
There are too many advantages that Wedge has over Tidus to ignore. Tidus a one trick pony that is outdone by a lot of better forwards in the game.
Also: Jecht Shot is for goals against defenders. You don't use it on an empty goal, you use other shots (like e.g. Sphere Shot). No goalie other than Nimrook is any kind of threat whatsoever - the ONLY thing stopping you from slamming goal after goal are defenders. And Tidus is unmatched in the entire game in his performance against defenders.
The first step should always be strategy. If you don't optimize that, of course things start looking wonky because things happen that should never be happening. Work on that first. Worry about stats after.
Your first step would be to develop a decent strategy where you aren't relying on a sub optimal player like Tidus. I understand that Tidus can be a noob trap where you don't take the time to develop a decent strategy and just base your entire gameplay built around one move.
"An F1 car is totally suboptimal for racing cause you are relying on it being fast".
Did I just fall for a big troll? I did, didn't I. Well played, I guess! ;)
Wedge is faster than Tidus and can take the ball away from the midfielder after the tip. Wedge can easily score more than Tidus in a game.
For someone who thinks they know something about Blitz ball, it's surprising how little you seem to know about the players, their abilities and their stats.
You keep using whoever you want to use. You do you, bruh. You go that way, I go this way, and let us stay far, far away from each other.
Let's face it, you scored 4 goals in one game with Tidus and now you think he is the best player in the game. Rather than admit you might be wrong, you come here and get all mad about it. It's just a game bro.
You've demonstrated in several posts that you don't know the absolute fundamentals of good BB strategy. I'm not the only one who noticed.
To Uno-Reverse your petty little rant: you looked at player stats and went BIGGUR NUMB0R=BETTR! without any idea about how optimal BB is actually played, which is why you suggested something inane like trying to outrun a defender with a forward.
As I said: you do you. I'm not here to teach those who clearly have no interest in getting better. It's not like it's needed. This is just academic optimization, even bad players and bad teams can beat BB with trivial ease.
I'm surprised you can type out these replies with a straight face.
