Celestial Weapons are pain in the ass

Since this is PC, you can always use external tools like e.g. Farplane or Cheat Engine to skip the minigames. Totally understandable that not all of them are enjoyable for everyone... I myself am entirely happy never having to dodge lightning ever again.

If you just gonna complete the main-story and not the optional bosses than you also do not need to optional super-weapons either - they are a waste of time for enemies that you can literally one-shot without them.

Yeah, the minigames in X can be downright dreadful. At least their torture takes less time than grinding materials for alternatives to the Celestial Weapons. (Except possibly Blitzball, and I suppose capturing every fiend is comparable in length as well, but that's not a minigame, nor is it as annoying.)
