I've an HP Pro 3400, with Intel Core i5-2400 (3,1 GHz) and 8Go of RAM. I think my computer have no video card, can it be a problem ?
thanks for your halp :)
Looks like you have an integrated GPU just like us (Intel Graphics HD 2000). Your chip is much older, though, and it's not recommended to play games in a resolution above 1280x720: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/hd-graphics-2000.c1292
At minimum, I advise you do the following:
- change your desktop display resolution to 800 x 600 before opening FFX/FFX-2.
- change resolution in FFX/FFX-2 launcher to 800 x 600
To take things further:
- follow the steps here to allocate more dedicated video ram (VRAM) to your GPU: https://ibixion.com/increase-vram-without-bios.html. Be aware that the final step has a mistake -- use a decimal value, not hexidecimal.
In my case, I increased my dedicated VRAM by a factor of 8 to 1024 MB (1 GB). You can do the same.
Would be curious to hear how this goes for you.
I wasn't aware that my GPU was so low ! :)
I'll give that a try. Thanks.
I am not very familiar with the technical aspects, but here are what i found of the spec on my PC:
PC: Lenovo T450s
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5300U CPU @2.30GHz
RAM 8.00 GB
System: 64-bites, x64based processor
Windows 10 Pro, version 1909, updated April 7th 2020
VRAM 128 MB, Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
Not sure if i listed all data to find a solution, but hopfully someone could tell me what is wrong.
Minimum VRAM requirements on the FFX/FFX-2 store page are 512 MB.
The typical 128 MB VRAM "dedicated" to Intel Graphics is actually borrowed from system memory. Earlier in this thread you can see how to borrow more.
If you still see instability after that, we can check some of your power settings.
I followed the steps in the link, made it 1024 MB (as i have 8 GB RAM) and made sure to check the box for decimal values. The result was 512 MB, not 1024, but anyhow it is an improvement.
Thank you!
Looking forward to try it with FFX
Hope you'll let us know how it goes for you.
As for the small screen, you can play 800 x 600 resolution in full screen if you change the display settings on your monitor to match (WINDOWS KEY + S, "display settings", "display resolution": 800 x 600). Just leave the settings window open so you can revert back to your preferred resolution after the session.
All of Square Enix ports are thrash. I don't have any problems with other games.
Since i play with lower screen resolution, it works perfectly. You're right, my Graphic card is so low haha ! :D
Thank you for your answer !
I was able to reduce crashing by closing msi afterburner and rivatuner before running the FFX launcher. If you have any hardware monitoring software running, close it.
Also try creating a shortcut of the launcher from your steam library to your desktop and run it as admin.
I'm having this very problem as well. Did you manage to fix it somehow? Because I have been trying for a long while (varying the performance parameters, compatibility, Nvidia settings, etc.), but I couldn't fix it at all. I actually can play X-2 for a while, but I cannot save my progress at all. Whenever I try to enter in the load screen of X, the game directly crashes without any message.
So I figure I am stuck with it...
Please, someone tell me if they found a solution for this problem, I would be very grateful!
Not exactly you can avoid crash with RTSS and Afterburner just put RTSS in Stealth mode and detected as Low
Skyrim modded is known for have this problem too and in factr even with 120fps and more you can avoid that when doing that tested myself and i can confirm it perfectly work !
But you need to flash the excecutables of the two games in 64 bits not in the 32 bits when you really push the resolution in 4k....easily 2go of vram (until i will say in the 2500mo of vram neeedeed in this resolution)
Ah yes and last thing ! Don't use and try to mod the game UProjectX is TRASH for that it's not AT ALL COMPATIBLE.tested myself and the autor told also.
DONT MOD the game or you will have crash for sure
If you flash the excecutables in 64 bits (patched them) yes no problem at all..even in 4k/30 fps no worried at all..Tested several hours..ther ei am at 53h in FFX-2..since i removed the mods and reflash all the apps no problems
It's universal in fact when you flash the excecutables in 64 bits it allow for 4go and more vram to being used..
Problem UProjectX is not compatible with that between else and when you exceed well it crash
