Cheat Engine: Trying to play as Rikku

I'm trying to figure out how to use Cheat Engine to force the overworld player character to be Rikku. There's that short portion of the intro sequence where you control Rikku looking for Yuna, I'm trying to use that as the reference, but I'm just a bit lost. Has anyone tried this before?

I did this with the PS2 version once by changing the character table but it doesn't completely work because Tidus has some field animations that Rikku or other characters don't have.
it's possible that the game can crash due to missing animations.
