There isn't some hard and fast benchmark test to go by either way. Omega Weapon isn't really a superboss; if you've leveled your stats via the Monster Arena it's an absolute joke, but if you go fight it as quickly as you can it's a reasonable challenge. It doesn't really require intense preparation.
As for Omega Ruins, just hop in and try. It's not so much about stats as about being smart with how you fight. There's a couple of dangerous enemies in there, but there's ways to handle them even at low stats. Having Masamune certainly helps a lot ;) I would also recommend getting Rikku's Godhand before you go in, as the Mimics found in Omega drop massive amounts of gil that you can double with Godhand's Gilionaire ability.
How tf do I beat valefor
He is hitting 9999. I can't get world champion yet I don't even have status reels yet.
also , getting dark matter for break damage limit isnt really worth it , no weapon you craft with it , will hit as hard as a celstial weapon and besides , with 79 strength on auron i dont think you are reaching the damage cap yet , i would suggest catching all monsters in the stolen fayth cavern (including the 1 super rare one ) and just grinding s.level with your party using the don tomberry trick ( look it up if you dont know how to do it
As you haev finished the omega ruins i would say go for the monster-farm - there you get the good stats.
The Dark Aeons are the game's superbosses. Valefor is by far the easiest as it doesn't even break 9,999 on its attacks; the others require you to be at the top of your game and have everyone at or near max stats.
As was correctly mentioned above, always use Celestial Weapons. They have a special property that makes them attack as though the enemy had DEF=0, which is something you cannot get on any other weapon no matter what.
Spend your time capturing monsters and making Celestial Weapons as well as endgame armors. Once you're done with that, grind stats in the Fiend Arena to prepare for superbosses.
agreed , when i had break hp limit on my party and just had like 14000- 17000 hp , dark valefor really struggled killing anyone , didnt even have auto potion or other things , just over 9999 hp to survive the laser
well , for bhpl i just needed a few wings to discovery which i could bribe from marlboro , unlike defense and protect ,where i would need to grind defense spheres
true , but i wanted to get dark valefor out of the way before really starting post game , because i wanted to ( if needed ) have access to the one blitzball player in besaid
Tidus overdrive is relatively strong and his Celestial is not that hard to finish. Rikku should be rather fast to begin with and her Mixing really helps a lot. Yuna for her summoning.
The Celestial weapons give your Aeons BreakDamageLimit. If you train Yuna the Aeons become strong really easily.
So prepare all aeons with Overdrive (if possible with Anima/Magus), get at least Rikku to have her OD filled too - "ultra nulall" or"hyper mighty G" are great when used at the start, "Trio 9999" is good for healing.
When Valefors gauge is filled - summon an Aeon, use its overdrive, let it die for you.
the problem with aeons , i wasnt sure which dark aeons counter overdrives , so the attack would stillk hit my party , so i was careful with that and just used them as meatshields
