I'm reading that anima and the magus sisters are finals aeons

How can they be final aeons?
I thought the final aeon required a fayth to summon. As in a close relationship with the fayth the guardian etc.

And why is there three aeons of the magus sisters then

They're not "the final aeon" in a story sense, they're simply final in the sense that they are the last aeon you acquire in the game (since you need all other aeons to unlock them). Using the word "final" to describe them is a poor choice of words, nothing more.

Anima is Seymour's final Aeon, being his mother.
Magus Sisters are just the last aeon you can get.

The whole "final aeon" is kinda poorly described in the game - there are many sicussion about waht makes it really a final aeon but one of the mroe compelling arguments is that pretty much any aeon can be used as a final Aeon if the bond between the summoner and the aeon is strong enough and the summoner is sacrificing their life in the ritual.

But hey - there will always be glaring plotholes in FinalFantasy games - with there being cheap pheonix-feathers and cures for any decease, people getting hit by meteorites but stilly end up dead from a normal gunshot just minutes later.

If you're interested, there's a thread buried here somewhere with a ton of arguments about whether or not Anima is Seymour's final aeon - or whether it's just an aeon he happened to get via his mother.

Suffice it to say, the game isn't specific enough in its information to clearly point to one or the other.
