missed something again

i am 100% sure at this point theres a bug in the game , i followed guides 1:1 and yet i still only have 99.6 - 99.8%

in the save viewer it says im missing 1 text from tobli ( did everything , i only didnt bother with the ticket sidequest , since i used gil cheat anyway , so i just sold most tickets at the lowest price )

and besides that , i didnt get the cutscene on the ship where you get the dress sphere because i got it from the tournament thing

however , when i checked my file in the far plane , i was at exactly the amount it stated
i really dont get this game , if i didnt do a sidequest correctly , why the hell did i have the right percentage for 4 whole chapters , if messed up a sidequest shouldnt that have given me less percentage ?

First rule about bugs - assume it's you, and not the game.

You literally have a tool that tells you that you missed something. Clearly it's not a bug. I mean, you even said yourself what you did wrong (sold at a loss; you need to at least break even).

If you didn't get Mascot, that means you didn't get Episode Complete in all areas, which means you missed something (indeed the above with Tobli will not result in an Episode Complete). Whether or not you got the dress sphere from somewhere else is irrelevant, as you can have more than 1 of each dress sphere (and socket them all into your GGs as well, so you can trigger gates but keep the same dress).

Also note that something you missed earlier in the game might not show as missing percentage until later in the game - like, again, if you sold tickets at a loss you get all the % for that chapter, but you don't end up getting Episode Complete in Chapter 5, screwing you out of % at that point.

So yeah - it's not bugged, you just missed something.

i got mascot through the arena thing , i didnt think it would matter . so wether i got it after all episode completes or not shouldnt matter , thats like demanding all Catalysts in 13 have to be drops from monsters and not bought (adamantite can only be bought but whatever)

i double checked with 2 different guides , if i missed something why was i at the max percentage for both chapters ( the "start of Chapter 4" back up save i have is exactly at 59.6%
and for the start of chapter 5 file i was at exactly 75.6%

two chapters in a row where i have the max percentage for the chapter , and then the game tells me "oh btw you missed something all the way back in chapter 2 , but we didnt want to tell you back then"

if i did something wrong , and theres no bug with the game , why did i start both chapter 4 and 5 with the correct percentage ( and previous chapters aswell . i just didnt make extra saves for them so i cant check them right now)

As Hinnyuu said, you did the mission in chapter 2 and got the % for doing it, thus it showed as the right amount for the next chapters. But in chapter 5 because you didn't do the mission the right way you locked yourself out from the final missing 0.2% (or whatever) you gain from an episode complete.

It's understandable to angry about this mistake, but understand that it isn't the games fault nor has the developer tried to trick people into missing % points. If anything you should blame the guide makers.

already reported the guide for being incorrect

whatever , i guess i will just start a new file and get 100% this time , the only hard part was the last chapter anyway , just need to find a way to beat angra mainyu and trema legit without cheating

I hope you get it down this time ;) I failed my one and only try at 100% in one run, not sure I will ever try again tbh in fact next time I want to play new yevon anyway as it's been many years since I did.

Yeah just skip the moonflow in chapter 1 is how I do it, maybe if you go and mess the mission up you will also get to push him in, never really looked into it tbh

i usually need some time to fully understand an rpgs battle system , for x-2 i still dont use most dress spheres or grids (efficiently) , looking at your answer right now , i never even used an alchemist at all , most dressspheres except the 3 default ones and dark knight had no ablities yet , and for alot enemies i just used the boosters

i also dont fully understand the new debuffs in x-2 like the frozen state ( where the atb just doesnt charge and the character just stands there or the one where all options are grayed out


you also said the fight takes forever , which kinda made me not wanna do it legit ,since i would have to first level up an alchemist , max out everyone (still was only around 10 levels away from max since not even the far plane gave enough experience anymore ) and then , it was my first playthrough , didnt want to do all that , just to find out i missed something anyway

i now had a 99.8% run of the game , already got 100% in ng+ , the next time i play x-2 i will take my time , dont use the boosters , learn how all dressspheres work what grids to use , if i should use a grid for every character , the whole monster catching and recruiting , all things i will do now that i have seen the full game ( in other games just beating it is fine , since you dont miss much in 13 if you dont 100% it , you only miss like a few (2-6 at most) cutscenes or boss introductions , but for ffx-2 you miss lots of the story

the problem with angra mainyu mainly is that i used auto battle and full hp cheat and that wasnt enough for him , for the den of woe , i simply equiped hp increasing stuff so rikku and paine could tank nooj's attack and for the via infinito i used an some cheats ( and for the chocobos i simply used the all items one

i also dont know how to make enough money for oaka , so i just used the gil cheat to pay his debts

will do all that in a new file in a few weeks or months

about what i said earlier , for 13 i had to start over atleast 4 times because i got stuck at some bosses i just couldnt beat . and for x-2 its just a few super bosses that were too tricky for me
