Easy way to get Sun Sigil / those other tedious items
Hello:

I'm aware that there are cheat tables or scripts to get these items, but can someone please, in extremely basic English, provide me with something to get the Sun Sigil and tell me how to use it?

you need to go to zanarkin and defeat the aeon Yunalesca before you can get it. if you have done this then you just have to take the stairs down and then a chest will pop up in the room. you will also need tedis ultimat weapon Caladbolg witch can be found in the calm lands but you can only get it along with the sun Sigill once you beat the chocobo race at 0,0 seconds. in the calm lands at the top of the map there is a path leading down. that is were you get the weapon. Once you got all those items you basicly go to Macalania Woods and there at the entrance you shoul see 2 people that talk about there lost sone. you have to then find the sone which is located on the sky path (were there is no battles) he will be blocking one path there and when you speak to him and tell him about his perents he will leave and the path will be accesable and if you follow it there is a plant and clicking on it will start the process of being able to charge the ulitmate weapons you have found. for me this was the easyest one to get.

This is where the Sun Crest is, not the Sigil. And also it's not true, you can pick the Crest up right after fighting Yunalesca there, without having to fight dark Bahamut.

About the Sigil, you want to win the Chocobo Race on Calm Lands with a time of 0.0 seconds. For that, you simply have to grab as many balloons as possible while avoiding all the birds coming at you. Just practice it a couple times, it's really easy.

Fairly sure OP was asking someone to provide him a very simple explanation of how to use a save editor or something along those lines. :P There's a thread for FFXED or something with a similar name, I don't remember it offhand and don't feel like being his search engine this morning. The Steam discussion forums have a post with a walkthrough and link to the program. Cheat Engine is another popular one, it apparently modifies the values in memory as you're playing the game so all you need is a table with the memory locations in hex for whatever you need to modify... which of course others have already written up. Again, don't feel like being his search engine, the info is out there.

That's what I'm looking for. However, the threads I've seen are not sufficiently detailed - I need something more basic, e.g., download this, drag this file here, insert these numbers, etc.

If you want something with a simple, intuitive interface, I'd suggest the Farplane editor. It's pretty self-explanatory to use, adding any Sigil/Crest is as simple as pushing the respective button.
