i screwed up and dont know how to fix it (spoilers)
So i didn't get the besaid treasure to unlock anima and now dark valefor is there and im nowhere near strong enough to beat him. I just wanted yuna's celestial weapon which you can't get without unlocking the three hidden aeons.

Anemia isn't unlocked with any treasure from Besaid. You need to unlock the Baaj Temple for that. If you need the Moon Crest from Besaid you can go back with the airship to get it. As for not being strong enough, I would suggest fighting in the Calm Lands. It's a great place to level up quickly. Stay near the center with the save sphere so you can heal up easily.

If you need any other help you can add me and message me. I would love to help.

You do need the treasure from the besaid temple, if you have a lot of money you can use Yojimbo's Zanmato to kill Dark Valefor, otherwise you're just gonna have to grind a lot.

i would suggest playing blitzball and leveling up wakka by getting all of his overdrives to get the treasure spear and ofc if you build his wepon you need break damnage limints and he needs to be maxed out or very close to it to defeat dark valifor with the attack reels he also needs to have first strike because you have one shot at killing him before his turn witch usually ends with an imendent death (also to the one that said you dont need any treasure from besaid sadly you have to have a treasure chests from each trial to unlock anime because in Baaj Temple you have to activate each statue that is connected to each trial)

I remember needing to get all the destruction spheres. Which yes, theres a chest but I personally thought it was just the spheres needed. Not the chests themselves. That's how I have always played the game, get the destruction spheres to unlock the Baaj Temple.

Afaik you need to open the chests that are revealed by the respective Destruction Spheres (you'll see the seal glyph of Anima flash briefly when you open them). That's why you can't leave Bevelle Temple without opening the chest (since you can't return to Bevelle Temple later).

Dark Valefor while hard is nowhere near at the level of other Dark Aeons. Just getting everyone decent damage, a CW or two, and - most importantly - armors with Auto-Phoenix is probably enough to beat it even without excessive grinding.

So i HAVE to beat dark valefor to get Yuna's celestial weapon then? I'm right at the end boss and despite never really skipping fights the entire game, I'm getting slammed because he's one hitting me. I can do plenty of damage, but I can't take hits so I need a limit break to speed it up. Also, ♥♥♥♥ whoever designed the endgame with a 5 minute unskippable cutscene between the checkpoint and a boss.

if you cant beat the final boss you are just underlevelled , and yunas celestial weapon wont change that , maybe catch some monsters , and then fight the monster arena creations to get stronger ( you could use the don tomberry trick

If i had her limit breaker, I'd be hitting like 30k per attack and wouldnt have to worry about defense because he'd die in 4 hits. Does Aurons power break lower the boss's strength stat? If it does, I might be able to combine that with Protect and survive the hit
Hinnyuu Jan 6, 2019 @ 6:02am
If all you care about is beating the end boss, don't even worry about Yuna's CW. Just level your team a bit more and you can beat it without any CWs - or if you really want CWs, get them on other people. Auron and Rikku are basically free, Wakka just takes time but not a lot of effort.
Kunzite Blossom Jan 6, 2019 @ 7:51am
Yuna's CW is actually really good cause of 1mp cost (Only so Holy will cost 1mp instead of 80), but if you can get 20 Three Stars to customize it onto a staff for her, you will be fine without the CW. I never even went back for Dark Valefor, but honestly just level up cause you might be underleveled.
Mikasa Ackerman Jan 6, 2019 @ 2:12pm
honestly, nirvana has break damage limit , triple overdrive , double ap and one mp cost

the first one is irrelevant if you dont even reach the damage limit with yuna , triple overdrive isnt really needed as her overdrive only summons aeons with an overdrive, you can just fill it before a fight , double ap isnt bad but you can just get all al bhed primers and speak with rin to get enough items to put it on 3 weapons

the only useful thing really is the one mp cost , and you get 60 three stars for opening all 5 chests below remium temple , or by completing the task for earth eater , which also gives 60 and only requires capturing fiends from 2 areas , so if you do it in beaid and kilika you have it in no time

edit:
im not saying the weapon is useless , i know they have a hidden negate defense stat but if you are underleveled nirvana wont make a difference

I had the same problem as you. Actually, I had to repeat twice the temple after defeating dark valefor, because the treasure is not so obvious.

What I did is:
1- First, I found Omega Ruins in the map (just by chance).
2- I fought the monsters there, for some time.
3- Meanwhile I captured ten of every species of Spira (except robots and golems, which cannot be caught). For that level you only need one of each, though.
4- When I had more level, I trained in the Training Camp in the Calm Lands (I think it's called like that in English, my game is in Spanish so I'm sorry if I'm wrong).
5- I discovered the tomberi trick looking for guides on the internet. Basically, consists on using Overdrive to PH and having huge tons of damage, in order to earn a lot of experience.
6- I learned Auto-Life with Tidus and Wakka, which allowed me, having some luck, to survive and win against dark valefor.

I recommend to have at least Auron with his celestial weapon, as he usually has a lot of strenght and inflicts a good amount of damage. You'll need to raise his accuraccy in order to hit DV, unless you use his Overdrive.

I hope this helps.

Happened my first playthrough too. Spent a lot of time grinding Omega Dungeon (nice music so it's not so bad, haha) and it was like a miracle when I beat Dark Valefor. (I not only missed the Destruction Sphere, but that Jecht Sphere as well. I was reeeeeallly motivated).

I recommend saving Anima for another playthrough and next time just make sure you get the Destruction Sphere treasures in every Temple. (And also once you get to Calm Lands and can start hunting fiends, double back to Besaid and get that stupid sphere!!! before heading up to Zanarkand.)

Unless you're really into grinding and intend to beat all the Dark Aeons anyway, it's quite possible, but horrendously brutal.

that doesnt work , once you defeat seymour in macalania and bevelle you cant go back to besaid so if you go back to hunt fiends you will bump into dark valefor already, for aurons sphere its best to go back right after fighting the sphere boss ni macalania
