Can someone explain the "Complete a character's sphere grid" acheivement?
There is also one for completing every party members sphere gird.

Do i have to fill up even the blank nodes?

Is it the entire sphere grid map, or just the accepted route for that character?

What if you are using the newer version of the sphere grid?

So it is every single node filled including the blank ones and the ones requiring a keystone

You need to fill and activate every single node on the grid. That includes empty nodes, blocked nodes, everything.

Doesn't matter which Grid you use, but the Standard Grid has slightly more total nodes than the Expert Grid.

Following up on this: Is there any faster way to do it than grinding at the monster arena? Any monsters that can be bribed for infill spheres of any kind, for example?

How much faster do you want it to get? You got auto-battle, speedup, the battle-bonus cheat, get 2 spheres per battle and can finish them in 2 hits withing seconds.
With how many nodes are filled from the start for the achievement you only need something like 300 nodes or so in total.

Not for node spheres, no, but for activation spheres there's a trick.

Using the various Extract abilities (Extract Speed, Extract Strength, etc.) on an enemy will replace ALL of that enemy's item drops (not equipment drops) with the respective activation spheres.

The Monster Arena species creation Fafnir has a base drop of Light Curtain x20, doubled to x40 for an overkill. If you use an Extract ability on it and overkill it, this will then yield x40 of the respective activation sphere (except on the rare Dark Matter x2 drop, which will turn into x2 spheres). This is the quickest way to farm activation spheres.

Note however that this does not apply to Luck Spheres, as there is no Extract Luck ability.

It also works with the various Distiller items, which are functionally identical to Extract skills.

Also if you already completed the game and your at the point where achievement hunting is the last thing to do, make use of the parameters and "cheats" to acquire the sphere grid completion (afaik you still get the achievement if done manually).

Unfortunately, the Luck Spheres and the node spheres are precisely what I was referring to. Especially Luck and Fortune Spheres, because those require fighting some pretty long battles at the arena.

Not sure what Auto-Battle, Speedup, and "battle-bonus cheat" you're talking about. But constantly fighting Earth Eater and Greater Sphere for Fortune and Luck Spheres is not fun and is not 2-hits, even with Attack Reels with Wakka's celestial weapon.

Uhm.. you said you wanted to fill the sphere grid - not to farm for perfect stats. There is no reason to get high luck if you only want to get the achievement.

There is no way to speed that up, as those fights are the only repeatable source of those spheres in the game, period. Luck is a very powerful stat, so it's hard to farm for a reason.
