Plate Puzzle
Could anyone offer me some advice on this place?
Its pretty confusing and all the guides are basically, hit number tower this, fight this, hit number tower this, and its kinda confusing to me (I don't pretend to be a genius), so I was wondering is there any simplified strategy to this area?

That said its pretty damn cool and is one of the more impressive areas so far, just reminds me of an epic industrial nightmare and is pretty damn epic.

I was using this guide but I started into it and now I've kinda lost my place order in this whole thing. Any simplified advice would be cool, even if its a longer strategy I don't mind grinding or fighting a lot.

From what I gathered, every 2nd tower is blue, and every 2nd tower is red. You'll need to activate all the blue towers first, then fight a battle, and after that, you'll need to activate all the red towers, then fight another battle.

Can you be a bit more specific about which puzzle you are talking about? If I understood correctly, you were referring to the Tetris block puzzle in the Zanarkand Ruins in FFX, but I'm not entirely sure. If that is the case, the monitor on the first screen shows you the patterns you need to find, so just step on each tile to memorize which pattern each tile produces, and then step on the correct tiles to proceed. For the second room, the monitor also tells you which blocks you'll need to find, so after that, you need to step on the correct tiles in the second room.

Nah that puzzle wasn't to hard even without a guide really, it is a bit time consuming and involves a lot of trial and error, but nothing like this.

The plate puzzle in 10-2 is the one with the rotating platforms in the big industrial area where the robot guy use to be (I'm not familiar with anything about this game) and it involves fighting enemies at different towers to line up the plates so you can jump down them.

Its funny to me cause 10 is one of the easier more laid back FF's to finish, but 10-2 is anything but so far.

Oh, that was in FFX-2. Sorry, my bad. I can't remember the Bevelle Underground puzzle, but perhaps this explanation of the strategy is clear enough:

Thanks I'll check it out, and thanks phreya for the video links. But no thanks for the nice edit quip, or darling, I don't need that just asked for help.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Ok that sounds a lot easier, that's really all I was wondering was whats the general idea of this puzzle, thanks a lot.

On a side note wanted to just say I really like this area, even if its confusing.
I wish they had more robotic industrial enemies to fight.

If you're still on Chapter 2, I really like the boss fight at the very end of the dungeon. Let's say it completely shatters the happy, light-hearted setting the game had had until that moment.

Barthandelus, you not liking the video guides doesn't give you the right to continuously being rude to the other person and nullify their suggestions. In fact, you should be even more thankful that they bother to waste their time looking for guides in your stead.

Once I get the plates all in place and get the ribbon, where do I go next? All I see are chains leading to some robot badguys and some chests. And there's one path that leads to two glowing towers (small ones) and a large gap I can't jump over, the other way leads to a dead end.

I've already seen that one cutscene with yuna and tidus, was pretty heavy considering how FF10 was.

Personaly speaking game seems more goofy than light hearted lol. Altho I do like light hearted (can't have FF without moogles, chocos, and the like) there needs to be a lot of conflict to keep it interesting. One thing I disagree with FF is trying to make it to heavy, or to light, has to be a good balance.
